Naturally I know this, but I'm just being speculative. So, even if only to play the Devil's Advocate, I would have to argue that they didn't have time to transform.Duo wrote:They just transformed right away after they fused. Gotenks did the same thing before. I see no connection. GT Gogeta was Super Saiyan Level 4.Acid_Reign wrote:That same one is in Tenkaichi 2. If you ask me though, I'd say "SS4 Gogeta" is Super Saiyan 5.Conan the SSJ wrote:If you guys want a SSJ5, just play SSJ4 Gogeta's alternate skin in Budokai 3. That's the closest you'll ever get.
Think about it: in Movie 12 Goku and Vegeta were both at Base form when they did the fusion dance. When it failed, they still were. But when they finally fused appropriately, Gogeta was already Super Saiyan; no transformation needed. If you apply the same logic to their fusion in the Xi Shenlong fight, then it's almost safe to say to say that since they started out as SS4, the resulting fusion (which looks distinctly different from "normal" SS4) would be a step up, thus making him Super Saiyan 5; realized or not.
Thoughts?
If there was a Super Saiyan 5... (Has to do with hair!)

What if it was Toriyama-sensei?Rocketman wrote:If there is a continuation series to DB, I will personally fly to Japan, track down whoever spearheaded it, kill him and eat his heart.
That Gogeta logic does make a little bit of sense to me.

That doesn't necessarily disprove anything; in fact it only furthers my case. Have you ever seen Goten or Trunks attaining SS3 all on their own?Duo wrote:But...Goten and Trunks went from normal to Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks instantly too. In fact, that's a larger transformation jump than Gogeta, and there's absolutely no showing of them trasnforming. The entire sequence is shorter than Gogeta's.
It happened in Movie 13, too.
I think I'm done here. My intervention won't stop what will occur.Acid_Reign wrote:That doesn't necessarily disprove anything; in fact it only furthers my case. Which is what, a flame war? I'm not asking you to adopt a philosophy or anything; just entertain the idea.Duo wrote:I think I'm done here. Actually the red hair is something I thought made him SSJ5.
But that was 2000 or so...
But it's been stated that he is SSJ4, but who's to say he wasn't some type of SSJ4&1/2
It's not an overhaul of changes, but the coloring of his hair and body fur is different than that of SSJ4 Goku and SSJ4 Vegeta, so it's only natural to think that something extra is going on there.

That's what I'm talkin' about. Of course at the end of the day you can always just attribute it to a Toei fuck-up but if you look beyond that for just a second I think you'll find that it has some ground.nathantheguitarist wrote:Actually the red hair is something I thought made him SSJ5.

It can't be a Toei fuck up, because they would have realized that his hair is supposed to be black.
So maybe it was to look cool, or it can be an SSJ4&1/2 conspiracy.
But since Toei does this with a lot of stuff (like Gogeta even existing in GT at all), it really is up to the person watching, and what THEY think.

Perhaps a better term is "fuck with." They got bored with the colors they had already chosen for this next level so they decided to give the fusion a new palette for no good reason. But yes, ultimately it does come down to what the individual viewer thinks, so I'm sticking to my theory.nathantheguitarist wrote:It can't be a Toei fuck up, because they would have realized that his hair is supposed to be black.
