Goku's clothes from King Kai

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

If Piccolo gained that ability when he fused with Kami, he could probably catch Cell with no problem, teleport Cell to King Kai and be revived with the Dragonballs, leave Buu in RoSaT and exit with Gotenks, etc. My guess is that that type of teleportation is limited to gods and kais.

Well the only way I ever saw Kami teleport was strictly between the Palace and Yenma's Check-in station. So if those are the only places he can teleport to, then I guess it wouldn't be much use in those situations.

But it could come in handy for things like, oh say, a quick, last-second escape for himself and a beaten Goku from the final attack of a certain dsigruntled Tuffle...

... Huh?
Phasing between dimensions is kinda different, too.
Well, that's what we were talking about in this topic, isn't it?
Plus, Gokû doesn't make it seem that different, when he teleports to Kaiô's place.

It is. Remember how Goku had to run back snakeway because neither King Kai or Kami could zap him back to earth. Kami can only teleport from the outlook to earths check-in station. I guess King Kai can't teleport at all.

Or maybe they can only teleport a certain distance away, based on their powers? It's not like their abilities exactly match up with those of Goku and Co.... o_O I get the feeling even the various "gods" in DBZ have their limits; otherwise this thread would probably be over and done with by now...
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

I'm just saying there were other kinds of teleportations in the series before Gokû went back from space.

I was thinking about Kami's poof-to-Checkin-station power recently, and was wondering if it was possible that Piccolo could have... ur... managed to use it to save himself and the kids from the little Buu's Earth-destruction attack... and then I realize that I am too hopeful.

But then I thought of something... Piccolo's response when the palace was destroyed in the fight between Gotenks and Buu, and if that has anything to do with it...
*is in denial that Goten and Gohan could die*

Well, keep in mind, Piccolo and Co. were still unconscious after Goku and Vejita got them out of Buu's head. So, any ability that Piccolo may have had to teleport to the check-in station would have been rendered kind of null and void at the time of Kid Buu's attack. Whether or not said ability would be impeded if one or the other of the points were destroyed (Kami's Palace, in this instance) is never elaborated on. So, in the end it remains a mystery to us... o__o

That makes two of us. Up until Kid Buu destroyed the Earth, I kinda saw Gohan as the one character who would never be killed (outside his parallel Mirai self dying at the Androids' hands). Even after his first battle with fat Buu, when dangling on the edge of death, he still survived and underwent training with the Kaioshins. Then when Buu destroyed the Earth and Gohan vanished with it, I was just in shock (this being the first time I saw it). It was like "How could they kill GOHAN!?"

And now my Gohan fanboy rant is over.
