I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the first thread should hold the general info or something..MisterFlashdude wrote:Even though a lot of interesting information has been brought to life here, it's a little confusing to have two threads, one under the other, on the same subject.

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Hmm... does the forum have a "merge topic" feature?
I wonder... since we have some traces of Buu at the end of GT (and definitely at the end of Z), and we have things like NekoMajin Z interacting with DBZ characters... would there be -majin type characters of some kind?
If news of this has just broken in the past week or so, and Korean betaTesting is in the summer, I'd imagine that information would slow down from here and just trickle in until around August, by which time we'd probably know everything short of actually playing the game.

In case you didn't see the main page, Julian translated some information.
You are free to do whatever (like most MMO's. Cool)
You can interact with other players (same)
You can add new characters / events as time goes on by downloading new maps, characters, etc. (more than one character per player? afro Kuririn and Piccolo? Nice!)
You can mix & match elements to create characters
You can have your character start out as a child and grow up over time (awesomeness)
The game is set around 200 years after the end of DBZ (circa Age 1000)
Beta version comes out in Korea in 2007, with the Japanese release (and final Korean release) coming in 2008 (this makes me wonder. If I were to settle with the Japanese version in 2008 [ugh, long wait], I'd be all around a bunch of Japanese players. Then again, I HAVE played Jump Ultimate Stars...

Exactly how would they do that, with the Z warriors ruining every villain's shit before hundreds upon hundreds of "other heroes" would have the opportunity to battle them?Sun_Wukong wrote:This seems really lame. I may be alone on this, but I want a DBZ rpg set in the DBZ time line, not generations later.

But then how can they come up with a really outrageous story as to the return of the Saiya-jins from extinction, and the abundance of Nameks and Cyborgs on Earth...?Sun_Wukong wrote:This seems really lame. You're not alone...

That's if its a WoW-style MMO... which it probably is. But the vast majority of Korean and Japanese MMORPGs are downloaded online for free, and are often playable for free, but require you to pay for certain features or content (usually with a cash shop for special items).djkalteraphine wrote:Chances are, if they're trying for a WoW-style MMO (which, as it seems, they are), it'll have a monthly charge on it. That's the only possible way to keep patching, adding content, and moderating the game. And I doubt we'll be seeing it translated. But we may.MysticGogeta wrote:I wonder how much it may cost, or if it is free. And if it will ever be translated in English for U.S. and E.U. releases.
Of course, I imagine that this will be a more traditional subscription-based game, considering that its being published by Bandai Namco.
So, anyway, more information for you all...

Sorry that the translation came out a bit stiff, but I did what I could. The "legend" isn't over. The new Dragon Ball legend will be created by you.
Long, long ago, on Earth, many hot battles were fought by the "Legendary Warriors", revolving around seven balls and the fate of the world.
And then, 200 years passed...
The era of "Age 1000" becomes the stage for a new adventure!
You are one of the warriors who live in this world.
Some seek to collect the seven "Dragon Balls", which can make any wish come true.
Some dream about competing against the world's strongest in the Tenkaichi Budokai.
At the same time...
Your goal is to become a hero who surpasses the "Legendary Warriors"!
Now! You will carve a new legend into the vast "Dragon Ball" world!
And you will meet many companions along the way.

I hope this is Korean MMORPG style, I can't afford to pay for this, one time yeah, but every freaking month? No. Anyway, this is the most amazing MMORPG in history of all MMORPG and the Time Patrol Trunks thing seems mysterious... Passage to other worlds?

Nah, I agree, but not in the form of an MMO. Perhaps an action RPG or ATB?Sun_Wukong wrote:This seems really lame. I may be alone on this, but I want a DBZ rpg set in the DBZ time line, not generations later.
It would chronicle the beginning to end & it would have Kingdom Hearts/FFX esque scenarios. Well that's my idea of a sort of dream game.

I'm working on it, and will most likely fail and/or give up in the next 400 days!Sebastian (SB) wrote:Nah, I agree, but not in the form of an MMO. *points to Rick's RPGs* at least they actually work somewhere besides my browser!

MMORPGs need scribes so that when people come in late and there's lots of histery between groups and stuff, they can tell what's going on without annoyingly asking everyone.
So, does it seem that the entire world will have one set of DBs, or do we think they might have multiple sets (and maybe multiple "worlds")?
