Would a new series of Dragonball be accepted?

I think the best thing they could do, is to make a theatrical movie retelling one of the story arcs from DB or DBZ with better animation, like what was done with One Piece(Is that what they did? I'm not fully into One Piece yet :p)
EDIT: I'm just casually scanning through Wikipedia, and I came across this article. When I read about the game, I thought that it was a pretty good idea.
What if they made an OVA/Special/Movie/etc. about Gohan and Goten. Gohan would be telling Goten about all the great battles that Goku fought, and it would show flashbacks of the best moments in the fights. And everyonce in awhile, some of the other characters would come in and help Gohan tell the stories.

I agree, even though I think making movies based on story arcs of a currently ongoing series is a bad idea, I think it's a great idea for DBZ ( a nicely animated, compact, filler-less retelling of the Namek saga would complete my life)Big Momma wrote:This may have been mentioned already

Otherwise I think a prequel would be the way to go, maybe based around King Vegeta and the other Saiya-jins leading up to Freeza destroying the planet.

Yeah, One Piece movie 8 is apparently a retelling of the Alabasta arc. Although, it's not like Dragonball hasn't done it before either, The Path to Power anyone?Big Momma wrote:I think the best thing they could do, is to make a theatrical movie retelling one of the story arcs from DB or DBZ with better animation, like what was done with One Piece(Is that what they did? You are correct on that one, Saiyaman. I had forgotten about Path to Power.
I also like your idea, Captain Awesome. Its always good to hear interesting back stories for less popular characters.
EDIT: I just got another idea. What about a series taking place in between DBZ and DBGT having a teenage Goten and Trunks going on some big adventure? There would be occasional cameos from larger characters in the series as well.
(In terms of story, I haven't really thought of that. The Dragon Radar breaking, and Goten and Trunks traveling the world looking for the dragonballs themselves, while trying to find special parts to build a new dragon Radar?

... That sounds awesome! ^___^ And would be relatively cheap to make, I'd imagine, since a lot of stuff could be recycled and the new stuff wouldn't be likely to require immense amounts of work.Big Momma wrote: What if they made an OVA/Special/Movie/etc. about Gohan and Goten. Thats not what it says in what I read.Rocketman wrote:A Dragon Radar is made up of common plane parts.Big Momma wrote:(In terms of story, I haven't really thought of that. DBZ - Volume 24(VIZ) Page 11:
Bulma: "We'll use the dragonradar I left in the lab! It uses special parts so I can't make one here!"
They were at Kami's Lookout, so I suppose you couldn't get those plane parts up there. I could be wrong.

When Goku goes to Penguin Village, one of the Dr. Slump characters creates a working DB radar using plane pieces. In fact, unless I missed something, that radar is then the one used for the rest of the series.Big Momma wrote:Thats not what it says in what I read.

Oh, well thanks for clearing that up!
