I do not want that to happen to DB/Z/GT!
Toei won't allow it.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

The Japanese seem pretty excited for this movie to me...

That's because they don't take things as serious as we do. Not to my knowledge at least.

Perhaps that's a sign that "we" should take things a little less seriously.

I've said it all along. This films gonna be awesome.
Not trying to mask me fandom behind " so bad it'll be great! ".
Because I'm not gonna walk in there expecting Dragonball, I'll walk in expecting a movie slightley based on Dragonball. And just take it as that.
And with that I mind, I'll enjoy the film.

Been trying that for awhile. That's why I don't have Nerd Rage over the VIZ manga.

The magazine labels "Muten Roshi" as just "Roshi", no "Muten/Master" which I find odd since it was written in Japan were Muten is ussually said as part of his name. Goku however is labled as "Son Goku".

Also, I'm glad to see that the shirt Chatwin is wearing has some sort of symbol on it like the symbols the fighters in DB would wear on their gi's to pay homage to their masters, it is a nice little detail that helps this more resemble the origional manga/anime even though the symbol does not seem to match any of the symbols used in the anime ( http://www.myfavoritegames.com/dragonba ... lGuide.htm ).

The symbol on Goku's shirt there means "luck" or "fate." Fate, in particular, does seem to play into the plot, from what we know so far (with the whole, "join me, you're a Saiyan, conquest is your destiny/in your blood" deal from Piccolo). Aside from anything of that sort, I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. It's his casual outfit; it's not likely to have any significance.

"Fate" makes me think more of the Clamp style of storytelling than Mr. Toriyama's.

I've been trying to avoid getting upset over things like "Goku's" hair and "Weaver" until I actually see something on the movie on TV or in the hard copies of magazines.
On hiatus.

I can fully understand not having Goku's hair look all wild and crazy like in the manga/anime. I'm even fine with Bulma's hair not being blue, even though that can be explained by her just saying that she dyes it.

But come on, how do you not make Roshi bald with some facial hair? That's just being lazy in my opinion.

Wow.

Uh, I didn't think his hair looked good last time, but I didn't think it was the worst thing I had ever seen.

But fuck..that looks like a promotional picture from Ace Ventura 3: The son of Ace Ventura.

And yes, I just made that movie up..however my point remains valid.

You guys crack me up.

"The One" was 10x better than "Speed Racer," and "Final Destination 3" has better reviews than "The Matrix Revolutions" and "Speed Racer."

Wong has 3 Emmy nominations and has been praised as one of the best persons behind "The X-Files" and "Millenium."

I think he can adapt Dragonball, which already has an established story and does not require to be written from scratch just fine.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Yeah. Screw the reviews. When people start bashing Speed Racer for being "too colorful" you know that they don't know what the Hell they're talking about.

@ JAPPO

Lol. Because some of us don't care anymore; it's being made and that's that, just like how some of us have shut up and accepted the season sets no matter how flawed it is. Also, for the record, Ssj Kaboom has been in support of this film since the beginning so..don't group all of us together and laugh.

No matter how bad I think this film is going to be, I'm still going to go see it the day it opens.

I'm a jerk like that.
