Considering my messed up state of mind anymore, this is probably a (possibly metaphorical) life or death topic. With or without dragonball, but I should note that I got into DBZ less than a year before this topic hit me... Hmm...

I watch the show on occasion, usually in bulk. I come here for the news and the podcast. I listen to the music pretty regularly. And every year, my best friend and I relive in the show with the new video game.

You can enjoy cartoons regardless of age. Watching some anime shows is a family event in Japan.

I fell out of the Dragonball fan community for a few years, but recently started to get back into it. Currently I:

-Abuse my employee discount by buying DB manga (I think my co-workers think that's the only thing I read

)
-Buy the boxsets
-Watch DVDs with my brother
-Discuss DB with my bro (the only other Dragonball fan I know in real life)

I understand that, I sometimes watch it with my brother who only remembers from the Cell Games Saga, some of GT, and what happens in Budokai games so some things throw him off ("Who's the blonde chick? Wait, blue hair?!")

I know two other Dragon Ball fans, they both go to my old college and I think one of them buys the Season sets like me (We only ever talk about DB, I wish I stayed in college

The other is a kid I've known since I was about 5, and my brother's best friend, he sometimes bought DVDs round back when I didn't collection anime, turned out that they were bootlegs, I couldn't tell the difference.

I know a few other English Dragon Ball fans too though, who actually use Japanese names.

So far the only DVDs I buy are things from Dragonball Z Season 1, but finally found a place with both Australian Dragon Ball boxes cheap! I've often complained that no one caters to the need of DB fans in England other than Bandai and Atari, but when I can import I don't care. In the future, when I have the money and have all of the Funimation DVDs, I'll get the Dragon Boxes, and cosplay props.

I buy games, ''limited edition games ¬¬'', DVD's, ''Uncut DVD's ¬¬'', soundtracks, books, figures, posters, key chains, cups and a lot of useless merchandise take capsules and cards for example. I buy this junk, just to have... it's unhealthy.

Anyways, as a fan..

I enjoy watching the series, reading it, drawing and doodling images, playing the games, and discussing it from time to time. I used to love coming here to talk about it, but then this forum took a real dive but then somebody's dragged me back, and it's good to see some new people, with new threads and that a lot of the old ones have finally been dropped , oh and that the stupid phrases this forum went through... have gone!

(I don't mean that as a dig to the site itself).

I come here and I sometimes watch bits of the show.

There's nothing that I really do "as a DBZ fan". I absolutely loved it when I was younger, and so it's just stayed with me really. It's not so much a part of my life now as it is a part of my memory.

But at the same time, I absolutely love everything about it, and just the thought of seeing a live action film or a new animated piece fills me with excitement, and I'll appreciate it regardless of quality.

My brother and I have the same level of DB knowledge (we use the original names and everything), so that's really good because we'll sometimes break out into long drawn out discussions about the Dragonball Universe. I have one other friend who is a casual fan, but he doesn't remember much besides what he glances at on Wikipedia

Phase one: (mid to late 90's)
-drew a bunch of Dragonball pictures
-bought anything Dragonball related
-learned to read most of katakana and hiragana by spotting DB character names in Japanese books and articles and such
-recorded every episode, English and Japanese, and bought all the Japanese manga (heck, any manga by Toriyama)
-played a lot of the games (Super Butoden series, Super Goku-den series, Legends, etc)
-listened to the music and CD's

Phase two: (early 2000's)
-continued drawing it, with more original stuff, however
-attempted to move on, with newer series, like Naruto and One Piece

Phase three (2005 - current)
-trying to draw my own characters and story now, but very much influenced by Toriyama
-bought all the English manga
-trying to complete the series in DVD's
-very picky about which merchandise I buy now
-Naruto kept me interested for a bit, I love One Piece to death, and am currently having a blast with Fairy Tail, but Dragonball is my best fav of all time (thumbs up with cool guy pose)

Well, let's see. Lately I've been getting into some other series.

Even as I type this, I'm bidding on a DVD set of Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn! that ends in about 10 minutes. (I'm the highest bidder at under 10 bucks!

I'm also still reading Naruto weekly. I've bought my fair share of Naruto DVD's as well.

I'm also trying to get into One Piece. Since the Funi dub started, I've been trying to get into it more. I've read a good chunk of the series, and I bought the movie that Funi released.

Another series I'm trying to get into is Bleach. I've read the first 3 volumes, and seen a handful of the anime episodes on CN. Also, the Bleach movie comes to my theatre tommorow and, with me being an employee at the theatre, plan on going to see it for free!

Also, I've started Gantz...I don't recommend it for anyone under 17.

(Readers should know why)

Aside from series I've been reading/watching, I've also been creating some of my own series. One is called "Adventurer" and it is based off of Dragonball. It is about a Saiyan boy who travels throughout the universe "Kingdom Hearts" style, looking for the mystic dragonballs. Along the way he travels to many worlds, from other anime to American shows. It's up in the FanArt thread for anyone who wants a read!

The second series is called "Gemstone" and it isn't on this forum. It isn't really based off of Dragonball or any other anime. Maybe Naruto, but if so, not much. It's about a boy who has a gem embedded in his shoulder that gives him powers.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. I'll try to post more later!

NOTE: About that Reborn! DVD set on ebay, I won!

And it only cost me $4 + $5 S&H!

DBZ got my into anime for a while. I have every domestic DBZ DVD release (Funi's accountants must love me), all of the domestic Faulconer CDs, and many of the games. For several years (high school and early college) I was really into anime, and I have acquired a number of series as a result (Yu Yu Hakusho, Samurai 7, Black Cat, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Desert Punk *which kind of sucked*, and several others). The only anime I still watch is DB-Z-GT and Death Note. It just doesn't hold my interest like it once did.

When I was in high school, I enjoyed watching Yu-Gi-Oh! for the story, though I never cared about the card game or the video games. I recently picked up the second season box set of that, and intend to get the third next month. I think more than anything else, DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh!are nostalgic for me rather than being something I'm a hardcore fan of.

The year the Cell arc aired on Cartoon Network, I was a high school freshman, and I still distinctly remember coming home every day and watching it at 5pm. DBZ is a cool show, but the memories are more important for me than my actual enjoyment of the show itself. Other shows like it are simply uninteresting for me. For instance, I have four seasons of Naruto, but when 5 came out, I realized I just wasn't interested, never finished season 4, and didn't care to spend the money. I'm no hardcore anime fan, and despite (or perhaps because of) working at GameStop for 5 years, I have very little interest in games, so I'd have to imagine that my interests are changing. Regardless, I will probably continue to expand my DBZ DVD collection as long as Funimation continues to release them.

I only like the Yugioh manga, I can't watch the anime, it's just too badly edited... Funimation should rescue that series too, like One Piece, and have the first original series dubbed too.

I've not mentioned this, don't know why... Anyone else play Second Life? My avatar is constantly in DBZ mode nower days.

I censored my name because I don't want people bugging me on there, if you happen to play Second Life just PM me here for my name.

I also made a black version of Gohan's cape from the second Z movie that I wear a lot. I don't keep my avatar that colour though, just wearing the Vegeta look for myself, mines more blacker.
The hair is something I modded myself, so it goes blond at the press of a button. It also has a ki aura. I made and modded the tail myself, though the texture is hard to see in that picture.

This is what I look like normally.

I also know a few attacks, thanks to MagoTek.
