Nothing about the game is going to changed; in the description they say it's been left completly untouched from its original version, excluding the cover art (Which comes from Toei btw, I'm kinda happy about that).

I'm going to buy it anyways...I already have Taiketsu, no sense getting picky now.

SS4Goku: You look very strong, but you were no big deal!

I think Atari should AT LEAST put in "This is GT'" for the opening

Well, as we all know, the bad news is that the release date has been postponed a week. Bleh.

I wonder if they'll keep in the "conversation" cuts. You know, when your characters say a few blurbs after they've been selected. They cut them out of UB27, but that was it's first release in America. This has been released in the past WITH the animations, and the general rule of thumb is that when you re-release something, it is either the same as OR BETTER than the original. Deleting these animations would make it worse.

Also, I hope they keep the same music from the Ban Dai edition. It would be refreshing. Why? Because we have already heard the music from the GT TV show (damn rap and all who created it to Hell), but the music from the Ban Dai edition has never been heard by new fans. Hence, refreshing.

I think deleting the pre-fight conversations would improve the game. An American release exclusively with Japanese voices! Yay!

I can't wait to see people trying to hauck this game on eBay now. Also, is it really THAT bad a game? I've tried Ultimate Battle 22, and if it's as bad as that then I'm going to have to pass.

Final Bout truly is one of the worst video games ever released. Even if you can manage to look past the insulting character selection (six Goku, three Trunks), the almost non-existant background stages, the awful load times, one of the most non-responsive control systems ever put together in a video game (yes, far worse than the first Mortal Kombat on SNES)...

You're left with some decent music and "good" character models, at best. That's it.

Oh, and some funny-ass Bandai voice-acting if you've got the original North American release.

FAVORITE LINES:
Piccolo: "Now... should I clean the trash of the universe?"
Pan: "DON'T TAKE US GIRLS FOR GRANTED!"
SSJ4 Goku: "And in THIS world, ONE Super Saiyan 4 is enough!"

I need to rip some of that audio. It's retardedly great.

And there's the title of the section. :P

I hate how in Final Bout how insanely powerful SSJ4 Goku is, just QCF+P or QCF+K and you got yourself an insane instant combo! Then the hit detection was crap, very painfully slow jumps and normal attacks, there is NO WAY to stop a turtling oppenent, the meteo combo system is crap... the only good thing about the game really is its music and insanely funny voice acting.

Now, if you want a halfway decent anime fighter on PSone, Rurouni Kenshin Ishihou Gekitouhen is a much better game than Final Bout, it actually has some "fair" tiers, you can shatter an oppenent out of guard and no overpowered characters! :)

Image

Yes, Kenshin, Aoshi, and Saito all pretty much "suck" in the game! This game requires MAD skillz to play exceptionally! Atari should get the rights to this game and bring it over, cash in on Kenshin's short lived success on Toonami last year, and...it'll be cool I guess?

Anyways, Legends better be on Atari's list! That game rocks! Much better than Final Bout! It almost makes up for it in fact...err...wait...Final Bout came out AFTER Legends I think...

Haha, I've got that Kenshin game, too...

What are you talking about?! That game's ALMOST as bad as Final Bout :P The only cool factor is all the new FMV.

Almost as bad means slightly better though  . But you have not experienced bad intil you played One Piece Grand Battle on PSone. That game makes Sailor Moon for Sega Saturn almost sound like a good idea.

Then again, maybe all anime fighting games suck...well...hmmm...Inuyasha on PSone wasnt too bad, although it plays worse than Capcom v.s SNK Pro...Yu Yu Hakusho had a few decent fighters on SNES, but the SNES was the pinnicle of exceptional anime fighters (The Butoden games, Hyper Dimension, Ranma 1/2).

But oh well, they will all sell like hot cakes anyways, the collectors and hardcore fans will eat'em up

You know, who will actually buy Final Bout for $15? I ran into a pre-played copy of Budokai 2 for $16 at Blockbuster, which came down to $8 because I also grabbed a $25 copy of Front Mission 4. Seems over-priced in comparison, ya know?
SJ Dragonball Graphic Novel, Volume 9, page 60. That is all.

I'm one of those people. Of course at the time I thought it would be a decent 2D fighter with unique fighting styles for each character as well as the story mode found in the Japanese version.

Boy, I guess I had expectations that were too high. :(

But then I would have to eat you.

Anyway, I, for one, am going to pick up a copy. Nothing anyone says can stop me from doing such.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Word. As crappy as a game it is I still enjoy playing it from time to time. I have a burned copy right now so having a copy I don't have to use the swap trick for is a major plus.

I'm getting it. I don't care what anyone says, I've played Taiketsu and that is THE worse game ever.

UB22 isn't half as bad as Taiketsu, but still, as a fighter it doesn't cut it. It's nice to check all of the attacks (Zarbon has Crusher Ball? Yaoi sense... tingling!), but it quickly gets boring. Not worth buying, but you can rent it.
It's party time, Ginyu style!

I've had the import version of UB22 for years. It was pretty fun for a while (my buddies and I spent a whole summer playing the build-up mode). Never touched the American release.
