I agree with Kunzait_83. I even checked both Spanish versions, Mexico's and Spain's to see if Steve Simmons was accuretely. I think the Englsih dub thought it was bad for kids to know how bad the saiyans were of killing Goku right in front of his friends eyes in 3 hours.

You mean sending him to another dimension in front of his friends' eyes.

Which he'd be trapped in.

For losing.

All of us need to admit that we imitated this line after we first heard it. :P

... or was it just me?

From what I recall in the Japanese though, Pic wasn't much more articulate there ^^; When he first fuses with Neru he's just a giant ball of inflated confidence ^__^ It's adoreable.

I was gonna post that! :P If that was in any show other than DBZ I'd find it pretty funny, though, although I don't remember when it was used, just that I remember it. Anyone care to jog my memory?

Come to think of it, did Sabat actually redub the YES YES Piccolo lines on the Season sets?

I don't think so, he did acknowledge the line in an interview, even going so far as to admit "none of us could write back then" funny how they didn't at least attempt to fix it.

Nope. I really have a great hate for that line.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Basically the whole scene where everyone meets before Freeza lands on Earth was dub failure to me.

And "you know who just joined the Super Saiyan Club!"

haha Well, at least that line came from a child's mouth. But yeah, definitely one of the dumber ones.

haha That parody video that stemmed from that scene is the only good thing that came out of it. They also made Vegeta out to be overly obnoxious in that scene.

Actually, I was recently watching Season One, and in that scene in the Funi dub, they basically say the same thing about Goku being a traitor, although Nappa comes off as slightly more oafish.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Ah, the corny as hell lines that sometimes make a fan wanna rip their ears off. You look at FUNi's other dubs, like One Piece, and wonder how a company that's dubbed that could have done what they did with DBZ.

Well, luckily I'm a sucker for punishment and found out that mixing the two could bring out some rather...interesting results.

Everyone's favorite Piccolo line.

I always found it odd how I was always the only one to remember that hilariously bad Garlic Jr. line. Must've scarred me for life.

As a matter of fact... yeah, I feel pretty much the same way.

Although soon thereafter, I love the dub line where Trunks blocks and holds up Freeza's Death Ball.

Yeah, I've noticed that Brice Armstrong has a helluva voice for an old man. His Ginyu is pretty damn good.
