I own the original releases, so I see no point in purchasing these items. Otherwise, I would very likely consider buying these double features. Upon the subject of the casing and cover art, it's just an aspect that I like to give an opinion on. It's a matter of preference folks.SSj Kaboom wrote:
Agreed. Besides, shouldn't things like the actual content and quality of the movies themselves be what's really important? It's certainly your choice, but I can't believe anyone would not buy such a great release only because they don't like the casing.
Like the saying goes, "don't judge a DVD by its cover."
Next Double Feature to be Movies 7 & 9 (And GT Season 2)
Re: Next Double Feature to be Movies 7 & 9 (And GT Seaso
They will probably put Movies 8, 10, and 11 in one set. Putting 10 and 11 on a disc together, because they are short, while Movie 8 is over and hour. That leaves movies 12 and 13 in one set. That works for me.
Anyway, I too am looking forward, some what, to the dub with Japanese music for movie 8, because Chris Sabat wrote the script and it was actually surprisingly accurate.

Indeed. He was a good deal responsible for how the Majin Boo episodes turned out, as well-- not perfect, but a step up from the previous sagas in terms of script accuracy and dub performances.
I wish Sabat had been able to write and/or direct more for the dub. Say what you will about his VA work, but on a personal level he always seemed to be "on our side" where things like quality and censorship are concerned.
Well . . . at least in later years.

I assume you somehow missed the Funi GT dub intro, and the endless complaints about it.SSJToreto wrote:What the hell?shotkeeper wrote:

I don't watch the "D.U.B". Ever. That intro is really messed up, though. I mean like wtf, they actually used this in the anime?SSJ Helldog wrote:I assume you somehow missed the Funi GT dub intro, and the endless complaints about it.SSJToreto wrote:What the hell?shotkeeper wrote:

As in, did they physically include this opening in CN airings and on the English side of the DVD releases?
Yes.

Yeah, it's the actual intro. Hard to believe. I'm not a huge fan of the dub, but whenever I watch the DVDs I find myself constantly switching back and forth between Japanese and English audio, just to compare the two. It's a morbid fascination, sure, but it's funny.SSJToreto wrote:I don't watch the "D.U.B". Ever. That intro is really messed up, though. I mean like wtf, they actually used this in the anime?

Haha, never thought there would be someone on this forum that hasn't seen the DBGT rap-intro yet. YOU'RE MY NEW HERO!SSJToreto wrote:What the hell?shotkeeper wrote:

Uhum..anyway, the new movie cover sucks. What the hell were they thinking?
Bill: Hey Frank, what shall we use for the cover of the next double feature?
Frank: lol, beats me. What did you had in mind?
Bill: I thought maybe USSJ Vegeta?
Frank: What you mean like from the anime? Nah, we need something more discrete.
Bill: ...how about....if we MIRROR IT !?
Frank: *GASP*

On one level, that's very true, but on a smaller, less important level there's people with complete collections who envy other people with complete collections that are "better" in one way or another . . . and thus can never be satisfied.

Well, he got us the proper pronunciation of Kaiô-Ken (as I believe he directed Burst Limit).Li'l Lemmy wrote:Indeed. I find the dub in the video games have been way better then the actuall show. Goku calling himself Son Goku? Awesome. I don't wanna say anymore cause this is already heading off topic...
And back to the topic!
I think the cover is fine. I just think as a fan base we know exactly where that image is from. If we didn't know where it was from perhaps it woulnd't bother us as much. What? Sorry, it makes sence to me.

They did the same thing with Sonny Strait and "saibamen". The broadcast version has Kuririn saying SAY-ba-men, but it was changed in the set to match with Vegeta's correct pronunciation.JulieYBM wrote:Yeah, on the English music track. For the JPN music track he redid the line with the improper pronunciation.
I'm assuming the same was done for Sabat's Kaio-ken to match up with Schemmel's incorrect sputtering, since Schemmel hasn't and won't redub a damned thing.
In the end, I guess it's a good thing-- characters using different pronunciations of the same word makes them look retarded. But Kayo-ken is retarded even if multiple characters all pronounce it the same way. -_-
Wasn't the cover for Season Three, like . . . fan art or something?Tanooki Kuribo wrote:I think the cover is fine. I just think as a fan base we know exactly where that image is from.
