That and the constant pissy tone in his voice as if Vegeta's generally switched to angry mode all the time.

Regardless of what people who dislike Sabat as Vegeta think. English Vegeta HAS A RASPY VOICE. You can't just start to tone it down a decade later to please people who don't really even care about the Dub.

Sounds exactly what they did with the music for the TV series.

Kidding aside. There's kinda the possibility of being overworked. After all, Mr. Sabat is also trying to pump out lines for Zoro in One Piece both broadcast (in Australia only ) and for DVDs. Can't even begin to factor all the other roles he's trying to do to help pay the bills.

You've got a point. But Vegeta is probably his most well known role. To not give it his all...Just doesn't sit well.

Though I really wonder how much Sabat makes income wise. I mean considering all his roles, I wonder how much he brings in per month.

Probably nowhere near as much as we think, quite honestly. Voice acting for anime doesn't have nearly the same oomph on one's income as voice acting for "real" animation does.

It's funny how people are saying the dub cast are just phoning in their performances for the games because they've been doing it for so long, yet the original Japanese cast (with a few exceptions) are still doing a phenomenal job.

Anyway, apart from the fact I think that on a basic level Sabat's Vegeta sounds ridiculous, it's the characterisation and delivery that make it pretty much unbearable to me.

That said, I do like his Zoro.

True but to be fair in this game
Tenshinhan's grunts are awful I have to admit. He does this weird shrieking noise while striking that I've never heard him do outside of this game.

I haven't double-checked, but it doesn't sound like Hirotaka Suzuoki (the late original seiyuu for Tenshinhan) in the game, similar to... what, Sparking! METEOR, when he was given a new voice? Believe it was Eiji Takemoto, who is a fine seiyuu on his own, but I don't think fits Tenshinhan at all.

What would be interesting is there was some way you could mix and match the voice cast. So if there are any dub voices you like, you could let them talk, and then for any Japanese voices you prefer, you let them talk.

"Freeza, blech, give me Ryusei Nakao...Cell, hmm, I'll go with Dameon Clarke..." etc., etc.

Probably enough to pay off his wedding debt in a month or two's paycheck!

I'm almost convinced it's an old recording. How's his Piccolo? These days he's sort of just talking in his deepest range instead of growling.

That seems like a LOT of work for something so eccentric. Honestly how many 12 year old dub loving kiddies would care if they could mix Lynda Young with Masako Nozawa?

Really you would take Dameon Clarke?

Is it possible for people with alzeimer light like me who don't remember where they've been to have some kind of map to find the blue spheres...?
I can't even get passed the first stage in story mode because of this >_>

Edit, the wonderful daizex irc channel has wonderful people that told me how to do it :)
<VegettoEX> Press triangle.
<sangofe> They look like blue spheres to me. Ah! Thanks.
<TimeTraveller> wooo, found the external harddrive I gotta get
<Taku> If you look at the Mission Details before a mission it tells you all of the controls
<Taku> Make sure you scroll all the way down to see everything
<Taku> Same thing aplies to the training missions. It'll tell you what buttons you need to hit to do what they're asking you to do
* TimeTraveller has quit IRC (Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.83 [Firefox 3.0.3/2008092417])
<VegettoEX> Except when it says "Do a Pursuit Attack!"
<VegettoEX> But doesn't tell you how to do that.
* Xyex|NaNo is now known as Xyex|Away
<VegettoEX> And neither does the instruction book.

It seems like voice casting would be the easy thing to hack, since you'd just be screwing around with file pointers and such. Nya? Hm. :?

I am mildly perplexed that voices that are used in exactly the same way are constantly re-recorded. On the otherhand, that's a lot of extra voice-footage that could be... used... for stuff...

for those who bought the game already... how would you feel if the Japanese version will get extra things and will or might be included in the European version?!

I personally will wait for the European version, and it won't be a problem as long as I have my modefied PS2.

Anyway... how many mini-games are there in the game ((say it seven times in a row :D ))?! is there a mode that you can play them or are they only in the story mode?!

I'd be a little disappointed if those versions got extras (depending on what those extras might be). But, it's not like there's anything I can do about that since I can only play NTSC U/C games, so there's no point in whining over it.

You only play mini games in the Story Mode, but you can replay them at any time.

...no, the Story Mode consists of mostly fighting, with the occasional minigame.
