Some thoughts on DBGT

Toriyama designed pretty much every major character for their first appearance in the series. Including Trunks' outfit, Goten's hair, and Vegeta's mustache and flat-top. The images are around on the forum, somewhere.

Someone find them..

I read somewhere that Toriyama gave Vegeta that design as a joke and that Toei was horrified by said design and it was their decision to shave off the mustache through use of Bura telling Vegeta how horrible it looked.

I kind of like Vegeta's clothes aswell.

If they had kept Vegeta's Z appearance, I think he would have looked pretty damn cool battling in them.

That sounds like a Gamefaqs rumor to me.

Well, you're right, but I kinda meant length-wise. It never got as "big" again as it was in Z. In fact, I'd completely forgotten that flat-top haircut he had at first...

Saiyan hair growth can be slower than human.

Well, they certainatly dont have to, but after getting used to so many endless battles in Z, it produced a very different, rather rushed feeling in GT. If the writers would have put more effort into it (and didn't tease us) then GT could have potentially been better then Z.

Are you sure about that? Are you sure it wasn't just inconsistency with drawing his hair length? I know it looked a little longer at times, but it always looked about the same. And I find it hard to believe that Toei would put the effort in to lengthen Vegeta's hair gradually throughout the series.

Yeah, he has a straight flattop haircut early on, but by the time Baby invades, the spikes are growing back. Since the rest of GT takes place in like two weeks, it doesn't get time to grow any further.
