In the manga of
Kimagure Orange Road, there's a
tiny shot of Kame Sen'nin among a crowd of elderly gentlemen.
Yay me for the discovery! And ''boo'' me for the sort-of-necroposting!

I'm sure Yuji Naka (or whoever) took this from dragon ball, but I seriously don't know which one came first. Does anyone know? O_O
Volume 27:
The Legendary Super Saiyan

Hope that answers your question

I always thought the Chaotix looked vaguely like animal versions of supporting Dragon Ball characters;
Espio - Tenshinhan
Charmy - Chaoutzu
Vector - Piccolo
Mighty - Yamcha
On a related note, the archie Sonic comic has been overflowing with dbz-ish-ness lately ^_^;;
There's really a super saiyajin-esque legend in japanese mythology?

Wow.
On hiatus.

If my sources are correct, then yes. But it's called the Golden Warrior.

Interesting you'd say that. There is spriter/web comic maker who did a story where the DBZ characters and Sonic characters switched body i.e. the DBZ characters became animals and the Sonic characters became human.
Sonic - Goku
Knuckles - Gohan
Shadow - Kururin
Tails - Vegeta
This was caused by exposing the Sonic and DBZ characters to Chaos Emeralds. One idea I had for a fan comic was where the Chaotix and the characters you mentioned above were also exposed to one, but I thought of doing it like this:
Espio - Piccolo
Vector - Tien
Mighty - Yamcha
Charmy - Chaotzu
But the comic was drawn and I can't draw to save my life so I never did the idea, and a while back he had Piccolo and Yoshi "switch".

Shadow as Krillin and Tails as Vegeta? I would've put it the other way around knowing how those two are.

Agreed, but it was the creator's choice. Besides this is going off topic. If you want to learn more about the comic and the site, PM or I'm me.

Sorry for a slight neco-post, but I think I found a possible reference.

I didn't think of it like that, but that episode was hilarious.
