I like him as KC because he sounds snobbish and aristocrat like which would be a good match for Chris Ayer's Freeza. And in Sparking Meteor he sounded fairly king like especially when he says "behold my peoples power!" And honestly I think his voice is also a good match for someone who lets his son (who is at least over 40) call him "Papa/Daddy".

I liked him as both Oolong and King Cold. Though his role that made me laugh the most was as Mrs. Minagawa. (Watch from 0:21-1:14)

Was King Cold in Kai the same Jason Douglas who is Admiral Aokiji on One Piece and Il Pilazzo on Excel Saga?

I like most of the changes. I still think Colleen is the best english Gohan so far, but I still say they could have done better. She still sounds a little feminine.

It's sad I can't hear King Cold for a future episode, his new voice was epic but so short lived. Like most of us I hope Eric Vale reprises his role as the announcer.

I still hope for a new Fat Boo voice or at least better direction for the current guy. Every time he talked I kept thinking he would say "Boo smash puny humans" "Boo strongest there is"

Everyone else in the Boo saga was fine.

I don't see why some people dislike Buu's childish way of speaking in the dub because he does speak like a rude child or he's intellectually disabled in the original Japanese version, too. Of course his voice should be deeper, though.

I was unaware of that because the English subtitles don't seem to indicate that. At least, it never appeared that way to me, because his dialog was always worded normally as far as I could tell.

His dialogue always includes the subject and lacks particles such as ga, wa, ni, and wo. Also, in the original manga, it's mostly written without any kanji.

He seemed somewhat more aware and smarter in the Japanese version. In english he basically uses his name before every sentence instead of I. He makes me think of Hulk. Funny how there opposite since Hulk is ripped and Boo is fat

So would you want Mr. Tatasciore to do Buu then?

Personally I had no problem with Josh Martin's Fat Buu. Thought it fit the character and it did make me laugh.

I never found it menacing like the Japanese one. The Japanese version also didn't sound like a moron all the time. He sounded kind of like a Buddhist monk.

Yeah, he sounds little more stupid in the dub, but as I said, he DOES speak like a moron in the Japanese version as well. His dialogue almost always has grammatical errors. I guess Herms or Saiyajedi can explain this in a better way.

I don't really have problem with Josh Martin as Buu, but Greg Ayers would make a great Buu. I'm also hoping Justin Cook will return as Super Buu.

He seemed more childish than stupid in the Japanese version. If I go by ratio, English Boo is 65% idiot, 35% child, 0% menacing. For the Japanese I have 40% childish, 35% idiotic, 25% menacing.

I really hope Justin returns as Super Boo as well. I loved all the personality he had and how he changed after each absorption.

Yeah, Justin Cook DID do really well as Evil Boo.

I also really hope they do something with that guy who played Oob. So grating.

English dub Fat Buu is too cutesy-sounding. I know what they were going for, but it feels so put on.

I don't mind Cook's Super Buu, but keep him away from older Dende.

Due to currently watching Baka & Test, I would say Josh Grelle before his recent surgery could've possibly done older Dende, even though I still like Mr. Cook's. Whether he can now, or even do male voices, I'm not sure, but before his surgery, yeah.

I wondered how that would affect his voice too, but from what I can find from looking into it, Maddie Blaustein (the original English voice of Meowth in Pokemon) had a similar or the same surgery done during the course of Pokemon, rather than before or after it. And she was still able to perform Meowth with the same voice apparently, not to mention the grandpa on Yu-Gi-Oh!. So yeah, Grelle's voice will probably remain the same.

I think we should maybe move our discussion of the Funimation dub to here. http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtop ... 16&t=10068

I don't think we need to. This thread is called Kai outside of Japan which relates to all things Kai. I think this thread is fine.

Skimmed through the High School stuff yesterday, and unfortunately it looks as though the episode with Gohan and the Dinosaurs is gonna have to stay since it leads directly into Videl's discovery of Saiyaman's identity. :|
