Funny, because the site that you hurriedly grabbed that off from is actually IN FAVOR of our arguments, which would be: keeping things the same. FUNimation is changing the original aspect ratio, and removing picture information in the process, just like Pan & Scan is doing. Just because it's in an arbitrarily wider shape does not make it somehow inherently "better."JAPPO wrote:*SIGH*. Don't you people know that widescreen movies show more?godofchaos wrote:It is EXACTLY the same, you are missing stuff you are supposed to see.

Let's try to stay on-topic and not reduce my forum to silly images for posts. Thanks.

I didn't mean your trailer, I meant my lame FUNi pun. I actually liked your trailer. But yea, anyway...JAPPO wrote:The trailer would have been lame if I just typed it.SatoSky wrote:You are one FUNi dude!
What? No? Alright no more dumb jokes.
Has anybody been able to put up a sound or video clip yet? I'm not really interested, just trying to get back on topic.
No, which is odd seeing as a few people have had it for a while.SatoSky wrote:I didn't mean your trailer, I meant my lame FUNi pun. I actually liked your trailer. But yea, anyway...JAPPO wrote:The trailer would have been lame if I just typed it.SatoSky wrote: You are one FUNi dude!

Back a page or so... someone was mentioning custom covers.
Weelll... the easiest way to do that would be to get a fatpack from these dudes.
http://www.sleevetown.com/multi-dvd-case.shtml
They got a 6 discs case for a buck (with shipping though... i don't know how much), and if you guys not in favor of the overlapping, and the flimsy digipak, you can get this, make your own cover, and it will look as good as new... or something.

I really don't see the difference in this box set packaging and every other TV box set packaging.SatoSky wrote:Maybe so that they don't get scratched in the piece of crap that they come in.JAPPO wrote:Dude why would you want to ruin the DVDs in an ugly case like that...
Just be thankful it isn't as bad as THE SIMPSONS packaging.

Because they're already ruined...[/sarcasm.. kinda]Dude why would you want to ruin the DVDs in an ugly case like that...
God damn dude... it's a DVD case, wtf is ugly about it?? It looks like any other DVD case out there... I'm just suggesting it for those guys who wanted to make their own covers, that's kinda hard to do with trying to make a brand-new digipak... I'm not trying to fucking argue, I'm just offering some ideas for some other people, not including you.
So now if you want to fucking argue with me, do it on something more logical...

If you're a true collector (of sorts), you keep the packaging.

You know, I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but thanks to the cropping, I'm really probably going to not get any of these sets beyond the first two.
And I'm only getting these first ones because it's the only way I can get all the episodes. Aside from those, I'll just complete my collection with FUNi's previous releases, assuming they're still in production. Then again, that'd be pretty inconsistend, and the remastering sure is nice.
Also, at a point I was hoping for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT to get sets like these, but now I don't think I really care. Maybe if they do get releases like this, I'll complete my collection in this form, for the sake of consistency. Maybe. It really depends on what kind of impression this first one makes on me.
Gah, I don't know. -_- I like consistency, so I'd like to have everything in the same format. Then again, I can't be certain that it's even going to happen. And the cropping is a pain in the butt.
Bah! The more I think of it, the more it disturbs me. Would it have killed them to make it fullscreen? To really make it the way it was meant to be seen?
This sucks. I'm ranting pointlessly.
They call this set "perfect". Almost. Not quite, but almost. That's what really grinds my grapes. It's so damn close to being perfect, but just has one glaring flaw.
This makes me wish I had a big widescreen TV. It is truely indicative of the fact that soon enough everything will be widescreen.
FUNimation sure has a way of screwing over their customers. I was buying all the Ultimate Uncuts up until they stopped. And they stopped with no explanation whatsoever. And this is what we get??
I think I'm just going to be getting the first boxset at least, see if I like it, and if so, see what happens with the other two series of the trilogy.
Although, in their defense, a boxset with all the movies widescreen remastered should be quite nice. At least there can't really be any complaints about that.

That's what I'm doing with the PSone DBZ import games...Calm down, jeez.
If you're a true collector (of sorts), you keep the packaging.
They're nice and sealed, and I can go and download emulatable files

But if your trying to say I'm not a collector... that's not cool... I'll be caressing my entire SBC while you tell yourself lies

But enough going off-topic...
Uhmm... I don't know what to say to get back on topic... so I'll leave it to someone else.
