...BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
I would watch the hell out of that movie.

Also, major laffs about how "valid and good" anime is while ripping off the cheapest, trashiest anime style possible.
I found it funnier that their example of anime as a grand, legitimate art form was Pokemon.

3 more screens and some news on pre-screening. I don't know if it meant 7000 or 700 it was from Japanese.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

The new screenshots look sweet. Continues to look as if it'll play just like Shin Budokai. I'll keep assuming there's no flight, as we haven't seen any yet. Plus, finally we get a glimpse of Son Goku...

...Wait, "SON Goku?"

That might be his name in the movie. If I recall correctly, the writer read the Manga not watched the Anime. Or that may be his movie name in Japan.

The latter is more likely.

It's Japanese though, so maybe it is just for that.

But then again, they have Master Roshi.....

The movie version of Goku's gi looks neat. I like it.

But shouldn't it be "Goku Son"?

Have to love Roshi's facial expression after being punched in the gut.

*Is pleasantly surprised to see some bangs on Chatku*

I like the pants, but they almost look like they'd trip him up real easy while fighting, so I'm torn.

The pants seem to stop short above his shoes/boots, so I don't really see the problem. Sure, it'd be nice if he tucked them in like "real" Goku but it's kind of nitpicky and there are already a pile of things I'd prefer to see done (most of which you already mentioned ). :)

Why is everyone in love with Chatku's fringe? It doesn't make his hair look any better....

YES Chatku is in DESPERATE need of bangs; so kudos to the game for giving him some.

This is the Japanese version of the game. I don't think "Son Goku" will be in the American version.

I'm more excited about this game then the movie itself for some reason. I definitely think this "live action" look translates better into a videogame then a movie. Maybe it's because they can take some liberty with the hair and action poses.

I'm not gonna knock 'em for that. I don't know much about Transformers and I went and saw that movie.

Same ordeal here with Batman and Spiderman.

Transformers is different. That movie was loosely based upon the first mythos. Which happened to be the one that was super crazy popular in the 80's. Most of the people seeing that movie remembered the '84 toon, with a couple wanting thier Beast Wars, RiD, and Unicron Trillogy.

It's not too different, really. I mean, I didn't become a Transformers fan after the movie, but it at least got me to independently look into the source material a bit to have an appreciation for where it comes from.

As much as a lot of us aren't looking forward to DBE, I think we can count on the idea that some people who go and see it without knowing about Dragonball will be looking into the franchise and discovering the source material for the first time after seeing the movie.

I guess I just don't really get that, since it's never happened to me. Going into this movie I've already seen nearly everything officially animated with the DragonBall name on it, and I'm slowly slugging through the manga. And with Transformers, they had me at Thats Just Prime

And honestly, I've never been enthused about any other adaptation except maybe jPod that got me to check out their source... Someone needs to make a Medabots movie so I can get an excuse to play those games I never played.
