This being on Crunchyroll now makes getting HD Screenshots MUCH easier though.

BTW do you guys think CR is gonna get the broadcast versions of the previous corrected episodes, or the Bluray versions?

Crunchyroll usually gets the corrected versions of episodes that they didn't simulcast, see the first two parts of JoJo as an example.

There have only been 2 corrected episodes so far, so it's inconsequential, really. I'd guess that they're probably getting the corrected versions.

Really nice episode, I watched that badass vegeta scene like 5 times
Nice animation and nice art, excluding the vegeta-gokú discussing that looked really bad, but the interesting parts were top notch

Frame by framing it looks like a good bit of the action was by Manabe, the opening to the Trunks fight was definitely not Tate's motion and the faces were 100% Manabe. Dude has some nice talent for action.
It seems to switch to Tate after Black does a ton of swings at Trunks against the mountain side, with the first Tate frame potentially being Black looking up at Trunks as he jumps out of the smoke.

63 looked pretty good, with some very good choreography and pretty well animated cuts. Most of the Trunks stuff was terrible, but when Goku and Vegeta showed up it got much better.

Now that its on Crunchyroll (and it's somehow working on my Firefox when it didn't for the longest time), I'll finally be able to consistently follow it week to week. I am adverse to torrents and "streaming" sites, so I've only been able to watch what shitty quality YouTube uploads I could find.

Well, there were a few good cuts, but there were some really awkward moments like Trunks deflecting Black's blast away from Mai which was really poorly conveyed.

I wasn't counting that as part of the fight.

This episode had solid direction and storyboarding from Karasawa Kazuya. He didn't disappoint.

As for the animation, while Yashima kept ruining most of the non-action scenes, Higashide and Manabe did some nice action animation. Vegeta v Black was the best part.

Tate didn't do much at least I didn't notice that much, but the Trunks v Black portion of the fight which he did was good.

This is my first time posting to this thread, so first of all I'd like to thank Ajay for making such a great overview of all the animation supervisors. It makes it really easy to understand what each animation supervisor's style is like.

I really liked last night's episode. There were a lot of great action cuts spread throughout the episode. The Tate cut of Trunks vs. Black was really nice, and Vegeta vs. Black looked really good too. Was that fight mostly animated by Manabe?

I think the way Yashima's fast drawing skills were utilized on this episode (and presumably the next) is really clever. Having him draw a lot of the non-action parts lets the other animators focus on their action cuts a lot more. Also, I think I saw one part of Trunks vs. Zamasu that looked like Yashima animated it, and that looked fine too. It was not as good as the other action cuts, but considering the amount of things Yashima had to draw for this episode, and presumably the next one, I think it looks fine.

I also have to say I really like the colours used on Daisuki's stream. They look a lot better than the colours used in any other recent Dragon Ball material, and look a lot closer to the colours of Dragon Ball Kai 1.0, which I really liked.

Lastly, I have a question. What are the main defining traits of Futoshi Higashide and Jin Inaba's animation? They both look very on-model, and I have a hard time distinguishing their respective styles because of it.

First part of the episode looked iffy, but the animation came to life when it mattered at the end. Considering how much action was on display, it was surprisingly polished.

-Episode 63-
Trunks vs SSR Black was cool, but SSB Vegeta vs SSR Black was much better. Who did it?

Looking to the NEP, I expect some cool stuff with that Black's scythe.
Karawasa's Black's blade cut in episode 61 is my favourite move from Black, so I'm curious to see what he will pull of this time.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Having watched the fight again, I'm now pretty sure it's Manabe. The noses in the scene look just like the noses in the examples of Manabe in the guide on the first page of this thread. From what I read, Toei usually lists their animators in the order of who animated most, and considering this fight was longer than Tate's cuts, and the fight mostly looked like it was all animated by the same person, I'm guessing it would have to be someone who animated more than Tate. The only three who did that are Yashima, Higashide, and Manabe. It looks very different from Yashima's work, and Higashide's animation looks more similar to Yamamuro's designs. I don't know what the specific traits of Higashide are, but judging from how different this looks and feels in terms of art style and timing from the cuts from Higashide in the guide on the first page, I'd say it isn't him either. The only animator who could've been the one who animated this is Manabe, then.

Animation was subpar in this episode, save a couple of scenes with SSGSS Goku and Vegeta in the end. Fights do lack impact, kinda disappointed

You can't be serious. The fight with trunks was beautifully animated, along with pretty much everything in the goku and vegeta fight.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
