I dont know they turned Roshi into a old version of BNHA Minoru Mineta, the whole scene with Yurin was basically how Mineta wanted to get a taste of Momo

The earings are obviously a mechanism to keep her from going berserk after she learns how to transform.

I'm still curious about what went on behind the scenes in regards to Kale. In the opening animation Kale has Caulifla's face and skintone, where in episode 89 she doesn't look like Caulifla at all. Did they just not have Kale's design finalized by then?

Considering that scene didn't even make it into the opening, the animator might have just drawn her wrong and then it was just never corrected. Skin tone is something that might not have been decided on at that point.

I didn't even notice her earrings were missing. I wonder if she just won't have them.

It's interesting to me because I like seeing what early designs are like compared to finalized versions.

She does. They're missing in the close-up of her face, but in the wide shot she's wearing them. Just an off-model moment or she's only wearing one in her left ear.

Last time Gohan got completely pushed aside, Buu didn't even get in despite the promotional marital, Monaka was a joke and Piccolo got to fight 1 guy out of 5, which he lost and didn't even get his loss revoked despite Frost's cheating.

While I'm not saying any old enemies will join the party, Super has been more then happy to mess with ups before. We just got passed a week long debate about Kale and Caulifla being the same character or not and I am convinced half the reason Caulifla even exists was as a red herring. Toei quit clearly was playing this fan base with info. They had no reason not to tell us Cauli and Kale were not the same person but they didn't say a word on the matter.

Dont say they "wont" do something because they have pulled stuff right out of left field before.

And it was absolutely bad

Tien is my second favourite character and a very good fighter along with Roshi but obviously I would not be ok with it. However, if Piccolo beats up Goku and Tien beats but Gohan then Piccolo and Tien are very close I wpuld be very happy.

Goku and Gohan are fighting for 3rd and 4th place obviously at the end of the episode.

But that would mean Piccolo is barely stronger than Roshi, who is also on the same ballpark as Mystic Gohan.

Sorry if I repeat this again, but the whole Roshi stuff proves why Toriyama is basically another Vince McMahon, a genius man who has turned out of touch due to old age.

With Toyble+DBS Room, Roshi being this strong wouldnt have happened at all.

I don't think we should necessarily jump to the conclusion that Roshi is stronger than Tenshinhan, Ten was taken out by Roshi's paralyzing attack.

We know that Toriyama said that Roshi was always"as strong as he wanted", and Toyotaro interview saying that Toriyama supervises all anime storyboards, so he mightve been happy with Roshi being stronger than Tenshinhan.

Also its a coincidence that since Toriyama has been checking the anime storyboards that Gokus character has been handled well in this arc so far.

I think Roshi started training shortly after Freeza came to Earth. For some reason fighting Freeza's soldiers must have rejuvenated his fighting spirit. Thinking he started training a bit from that point on is believeable.

It was really forced tbh, its different with Trunks, at least with Trunks he has the excuse of being a hybrid and even Beerus said he was "pretty good".

For Gohan it will take the same amount of time to reach Blue level than Trunks did.

But Roshi is different, its probably one of the worst retcons in the franchise.

Doesnt even help that Toei screwed up his pervert gag, and the show being a kids show isnt a excuse when the Fairy Tail anime handled the fanservice stuff better and the anime was aired in the morning too like DBS.

I though it was pretty obvious that Yurin was powering him up by the time Chiaotzu had to stop Yurin from doing her chant and let Goku fire his Kamehameha.

Whatever it was, I didn't see anything that told me, If Tien and Roshi were to have a death match at full power that Roshi would win.
