I really doubt that the Battle Royale will be the actual main meat of the arc.

With the DNA of Goku and Freeza Id be more willing to believe Cell getting incredibly powerful quickly than Krillin/Roshi being where they appear to be.

I do like using Freeza but I'd have definitely cut from the bottom...not Buu.

And there's the problem..time. Buu and Cell would take time to get ready. Our heroes dont have that time.

Its like Goku teaming up with Piccolo to fight Raditz, he would never have done it if the whole gang had been there. but he had only Roshi and Krillien, both of whom had died once already.

This is a similar situation, Goku needs a strong fighter NOW and Frieza is the only option.

Buu is a strong fighter now. Also FWIW I'm saying all three should have been in the tournament from the start...not inserted in.

Freeza/Cell should replace Roshi and either Krillin or Tien from the start I mean and had all three main villains.

Ahhhh sorry. Well that would have been interesting to. that leads into the thing I dont like Buu sleeping....I mean what they could not have had some guy from Universe whatever assassinate some of the team and make room?

Honestly Id I'd keep Krillin too but I know the whole Tien vs Krillin thing sparks a debate so I put both for fairness.

Yeah I've just accepted it now. No point getting riled up. It is what it is, a cartoon originally aimed for kids in Japan.

Wow, so I just found out the news. This is exciting. We now have three God Level Characters. I was wondering if Majin Buu would be up to snuff. We needed Freeza for this tournament. We now have a powerhouse for a team, and no one really thought Majin Buu was going to fight did they? They had been hinting at him falling a sleep during the exhibition matches. I know a lot of fans are upset, but I say wait until the tournament to decided whether or not it was worth the bait and switch. I can't help but get even more excited, but I'm guess that Freeza will get eliminated for killing someone.

That's what I've been thinking too. The Grand Priest having his own intentions and not Zeno's is a possibility.

Ah but remember Tagoma, Frieza practiced by torturing him nie unto death but always restrained himself from killing. Also as far as I'm aware there are no rules against maiming .

As much I hate the idea of Freeza coming back again, I do want to see how this will turn out. I do think if U7 wins, Freeza will try to kill Goku & Vegeta and Beerus would erase him forever.

They teased Goku going SSGSS in every NEP this arc but nothing in the Gohan one.... I don't think Goku will but I hope he does some SSGSS Shimanuki would be niiice!!

Well if he dose join...

1) Goku, Vegeta, Beerus, Whis and #17 can all work to keep him under control.

2) Currently Frieza has got nothing and Goku can offer a lot to a guy with nothing. A full resurrection, another shot at killing him or hell a wish on the super dragon balls. Or Beerus not killing him.

Toriyama must hate Majin Buu. There's no other reason.
Forget bringing Freeza back, why replace Buu and not Roshi or Tenshinhan?! Seriously Roshi doesn't even make sense to be there, no matter how much excuses they come up with.

Buu was sleeping in ROF, failed to enter in Champa's tournament and now he's sleeping again. If the exhibition matches were a Toei thing, they probably smelled the bullshit of this and decided to give something to Buu's fans. Just like the SSB+Kaioken, Fit Buu is also most likely a Toei thing. I hope he at least keeps that as a transformation.

But Toei is also to blame though. What's all that promotion with the 10 warriors of Universe 7? They even did a recent video hyping each member and once again, Buu was there too.
At this point Toriyama should just suggest the team and let Toei have the final word and do their own thing. I doubt Toei would pull off the same card twice.

Toriyama's involvement is a double edged sword. He still creates awesome characters like no one and keeps Toei/Toyotaro in check, but the worst ideas also came from him - Freeza revive and die in the same Movie/arc, Gohan not going to the Tournament because he had a conference, Buu sacrificed by a gag, Frost turn out to be another evil guy from Freeza race, Piccolo told to back off by Vegeta without complaining, Monaka wasting a spot as a gag character...

Toei is also bringing more interesting plotlines to the table. BOG and FT Trunks arc were suggestions from them.
ROF, Champa arc and Universe Survival arc came directly from Toriyama. A old villain revival and two tournaments.

This is ridiculous. Freeza is my favourite villain ever, and even so I don't want to see him ever again.

I'm curious if this arc will be just the beginning of something bigger like the Buu arc, because the tournament will just be 48 minutes. What will Freeza do after that?! He will have a 24 hour license, like Goku had in Buu arc and that was longgg.

Hopefully they pull it off and ROF main plot finally leads to somewhere. This also may open new doors to both Freeza's and Frost's characters and may create some internal conflict between U7 team, because not everyone will be okay with this decision.

Does anyone else think Freeza is back for the long haul? It's almost like they can't think of any new villains for Super so they keep bringing Freeza back.

Freeza now knows there is 12 other universes and Gods, no way will he not try to conquer it all. He might as well do the same thing Zamasu did.

You know, I'm wondering did any of you remember the dislike for Vegeta when he first joined the cast? Maybe Toriyama just wants Freeza to join the crew. Replace Majin Buu...how interesting that dynamic would be. Now that Vegeta has gone soft we need an unpredictable, unreliable ally...this is a bold move. I want to see how this plays out!
