They weren't in Resurrection 'F' though.

If Toei could keep some kind of consistency, I'd say this hints at being before RF where Gohan still had his powers, but I doubt that.

If the first few episodes are a prequel to RF, though, I'd kinda like that actually.

Considering Beerus is awake, I think it's safe to assume that Super takes place after ROF.

The teaser was a tease beyond tease beyond that tease of tease. Goku in farm radish clothes Vegeta not showing his full outfit, they're obviously making us suffer if this will take place post BoG or RF.

DBGT previews - new grown-up Pan design shown, Pilaf gang with new old design shows, major plot point (Goku downsized) teased, Uub training & progression from EOZ.

GT is a product that Toei still sells, the last thing they want to do is to introduce material that makes a point of negating or side-lining it.

I don't get this? They can ignore GT and still make merchandise for it. Just look at Transformers for example. They still make G1 stuff and yet the newer shows don't follow G1 at all. So why would ignoring GT have any effect on merchandise being made?

Child-like characters move a lot of merchandise in Japan. You'd think Tony Tony Chopper would be the main character of One Piece with how much merchandise in Japan is based on him.

Is it really that negative here? Seems more positive to me. HOLY SHIT! The trailer for DBZ blows this one away. The difference is remarkable. More footagefootage, growing characters, fighting (Yes i knknow DB more than fighting), and actually seems exciting.

This trailer is more of a tease trailer not a full trailer. That's the different. They're actually VERY DIFFERENT. This is like something you'll see a company announce to get fans ready. Z trailer was something you see on TV.

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids.Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

I don't think Vegeta is wearing his Cell/BoG-outfit, look at his neck. Usually he wears that blue spandex/compression shirt that fits so tight to his body and neck:

While I'm not on that hate-orade...I kind of get it. The problem with your argument is that so much time has passed since the original anime and Super, and within that period was a steady supply of games, tv specials, and of course the movies, that it's not really the same. I think people are disappointed about how it looks like the "same old DBZ." Could I be wrong? I hope so. I hope that Toriyama is going balls out and willing to take this franchise to new places. But I'm not really holding my breath. At best, this will be a fun, nostalgia-fueled trip with an old friend, but I don't expect anything more than that.

I find it amazing that people can come to the conclusion that this series will be shit after seeing 16 seconds of footage. People are so quick to jump to conclusions on the internet these days. I don't understand the outrage with it taking place in the time lapse between end of Buu and the end of Z. Is it really that big of a deal? Battle of Gods does, Resurrection F does and it's still great content for us. Am I missing something?

The outrage is fairly applied. The trailer was generic and it feels like the series is stuck in time now. Plotline set-ups are redundant, characters stopped aging, no new changes in character depth or growth for certain others. People can be rightfully mad, I'm angry that Goten & Trunks are still kids and going through their usual, unfunny shinanigans still. All of the scenery feels recycled and there isnt any feeling of real progression anymore, not to mention Goku EOZ will be a billion times stronger than Uub now if thats even a thing. Not to mention Beerus and Whis are featured again? If so, my expectations will be kept low.

You know that I can say the exact opposite of this and still be right.
You can form an opinion on a 15 second ad but it wouldn't be a good opinion.

There preview doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know, so it's hard to be either positive or negative about it, to be honest. It's a thing, neither hot nor cold.
