TheMikado wrote:^ Correct but if Super were the primary driver of increased revenue then it would logically follow that a wider worldwide release would also drive up the overseas product sales percentage.
Dragon Ball Super is still a niche product outside of Japan. Hell, Dragon Ball as a whole is quite a niche outside of Japan, even with new content. The numbers pretty much solidify that. Dragon Ball (Super) is certainly very known in other countries but it's nowhere nears a popular as it is in its native country.

So its basically Fairy Tail but with cute girls as the fanservice? jesus.
Not going to lie, that was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Dragon Ball is not a niche outside of Japan, what excatly proves that it is? What numbers are you talking about, if your about the Adult swim ratings, than that doesn't exactly help your case. It might be a niche in some countries, but not all.

To me too, I love to be overwhelmed with series I love

I'll never understand people that say "insertseriesname has to stay dead, it's over"
I read this shit all the time with Dragon Ball, Metal Gear Solid and several other series
Damn, just ignore new material and let the others enjoy it
Exactly. I stopped liking one piece so I stopped reading. Simple as that guys.

Some, instead, have fun going to shitpost everywhere and trying to convince other people that more is bad

Meh

Better thing is do as you did, indeed

What he said is partially true
Super still has a limited amount of content, compared to the rest of the series

Old and new fans jump on Super train, and get their excitement back / start to love the series
And then, when you finish to see and read all Super can offer up to now?

If you want more, you have no other choice than getting back old material, there are no dedicated super videogames, a few comics issues in the West, some dubbed episodes ( and the rest of them subbed on yt, crunchyroll and other places) but little to no merchandise, and not so much material in general

Super will have his true, explosive growth in the next year, but is too early now

But Dragon Ball as a whole is absolutely not a niche product outside of Japan, his popularity can nuke the majority of other franchises of any kind

The numbers I'm talking about are how much profit it generates for Bandai Namco. Long story short, it's quite small.

The Dragonball series is in the running as one of the most valuable manga/anime franchises of all time worldwide. The franchise isn't niche but some of its products are. I think the point stands that DB products sell and it cannot all be contributed to a single product stream.

From our knowledge on Freeza, he does know about Beerus, but he doesn't know about the Omni King, the several universes with their Hakaishin & Angels, the Grand Priest, or possibly even the existence of other universes. It would be interesting how he absorbs all of that.

Hahaha I wouldn't be surprised if he opposed them. Then again I think Beerus would have him on a tight and short leash.

Pretty Cure (PreCure) is a mahou shoujo (magical girl) series that receives a ton of love from directors and animators. Most of Toei Animation's best animators have done their best work for that franchise. The series director of the original series was Nishio Daisuke, the series director of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

It also has a lot of fun battles (though this year's is unfortunately almost all long distance).

The good thing about Precure is because it reboots so wildly each year, there's enough variations for almost anyone interested in the genre.
On hiatus.

I wonder why we haven't seen much of the other universes besides U6, U7, and upcoming U10. The other 5 have been nonexistent in the show. Maybe signs they'll all job in the tournament?

U6 we have history with as per the U6 arc, U9 we have some history with as per the Zen Exhibition match, U10 we have some history with as per Gowasu from the Trunks arc, U11 we have some history with as per Toppo from the Zen Exhibition match, besides #91 looks be the giant info dump on the other universes.

So performing as Bandai's second best selling Major IP makes it a niche? In addition, that's not even all the money the Dragon Ball IP has made. That's just how much it made for Bandai.

Equating these numbers to only Dragon Ball Super is disingenuous since the chart says Dragon Ball merchandise. Bandai did not suddenly stop selling merchandise from other franchises when Super came along.

Yeah I meant to include them. But that isn't nearly enough.
