You need PS Plus.
That's a shame. I figured as much, but had some small hope that since you didn't need to for the beta, that'd carry over to the main game as well.
Another quick question - does anything at all carry over from the Beta into the main game, or rather do you get anything for having beta data on your console? Or should I just go ahead and delete the Beta from my PS4?

Yeah, the worst part is that the game ends without explaining anything on her backstory, which means we have to wait for future appearances and hoping someone, someday, they clarify things.

I'm aware of that in general, but when the beta allowed me to play online matches against people when I didn't (and don't) have Plus, then that's reason to at least be curious if that's how it works in the main game too or not.

This shouldn't be rocket science, yet for some reason I am failing almost 10/10 times to execute special moves no matter what I do. I tried hitting both directional buttons at the same time, spacing out when I hit them, playing around with the timing, and no matter what I do I have only been able to do it maybe once in like the 30+ tries I've done. I've no trouble doing it on analog except for the fact that analog is inaccurate and causes me to drop inputs sometimes.
What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: Figured it out, I think it's cause I must have still been holding Down on the D-Pad after I completed the half circle.
Just got the game an hour ago, special moves are quite difficult to pull off for me thus far... :/
EDIT: Got the hang of it. This shit is too much fun
Quick question: is Beerus' Lvl3 based on the finger-flick he did on Goku? Or was it used in another battle?
The actual name sounds like something a lot more significant than a finger-flick based attack.

Dameon Clarke is a fucking mad man. I can’t even begin to state how amazing he is as Cell. Every single line delivery has so much personality dripping behind it.
The man's overall just really good at his job. I mean his Rad Spencer's nothing to right home about, but I think that's more the character's fault than his. But between his Cell and Rolento being godlike, he could fail at every other performance in his life and still rock.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

As far as I remember, this is his unforgiving destruction move (which some call his "hakai" move) which he uses to instantly destroy Zamasu in the story.
But Beerus doesn't want to destroy a good guy, so he'll just finger-flick nice fellows just like he did with SS3 Goku. However, he'll show no mercy for bad guys and destroy them (at least it's true for Goku Black).
I might be mistaken though, but I think it is a move that adapts to look safe for good guys or when the evil opponent won't be K.O'd by it. Otherwise, it's sort of a Fatality.

Yeah, that makes sense.
I wish he actually could Hakai all villains instead of Black only. I like the way it looks.

I’ve always had this problem also with fighting games that require you to roll a stick for combos and I miss button inputs pretty often. I tend to naturally start the quarter circle turn a little bit too short, however recently I’ve tried starting the turn back a little bit farther than it needs to be and it’s improved my consistency a lot.
On a side note, is there a thread here to discuss the competitive aspects of the game where people who are seeking help can get it from better players? I’m doing decently online, but there’s a few things that keep giving me trouble (Kid Buu is so annoying to play against) and I want to progress as a player.

In the same way Street Fighter and Tekken are repetitive. Just shut up already, please.

That's not nice. Having played several dozen matches of both games recently then yes Street Fighter is repetitive, no Tekken is not repetitive.
Is FighterZ repetitive? I don't know because I haven't played it, I've only see other people play it and from what I've seen it looks a bit samey.

Wanna know a secret? When I looked at some of the videos I thought the same damn thing. But playing this game and watching it is night and day. The action is so fluid and you have a dozen different ways to influence your combos it feels original, fresh, intuitive and above all fun.

I have switched to the directional pad because I couldn't fire special moves with the stick. Now I can use them everytime without failure, and I feel so good. I completed the Super Warriors arc without being able to fire off special moves at will and it was frustrating.

I'd say the story mode is very repetitive. It gets very tiresome fighting a bunch of the same clones over and over. So you get like a neat cutscene or interaction, and then a bunch of filler til the next one. The fighting system is awesome and the game is spectacular, but progression wise the story kinda doesn't do progression system well. That's really where I think that term fits strongest. I liked the story, but I can't say it wasn't a chore going through it sometimes.
Though it's not nearly as repetitive as the Xenoverse games as battles go on and on and on for so long. And grinding or doing expert missions is practically the same shit over and over if you don't want them to take forever to finish. But Xenoverse's stories while not as appealing to me, still had a better progression feeling in them. The battles are even more ridiculously long if you didn't mid max and basically spam powerful attacks to widdle down absurd health pools.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
