The stamina issue is probably why he ends up losing in a match in the tournament.

Also will a 'dead' person even be able to compete and they will know because of the halo. Wouldn't the other Universes say that Universe 7 is cheating?

He most likely won't have enough time to get the stamina sorted out, he will do just fine though, he is way too good for the same thing to affect him twice

If he's killed off now, he will be gone for good since Freeza is still dead. He just has a 24 hour pass.

If they intend to keep EoZ status quo they won't be able to time skip with Freeza as part of the main cast. He'll have to either be sent back to hell or run away and go into hiding in a way where Beerus can't get to him.

If they choose to go that route they could just have him be somewhere else during the tournament. Tien and Chiaotzu aren't there either, or the Pilaf gang (for obvious reasons). Once Super makes it to EoZ I expect to see a new shot of teenage Mai in the stands cheering for Trunks.

Would Freeza even need to train the stamina issue away? Or would it play out more like Goku's Super Saiyan 3, where him being dead greatly reduces the strain that the form has on him? On the flipside of that, it might also reduce his time.

Would make for a funny gag if going Golden by itself used up his entire day.

I'm not that knowledgeable on the subject, but I think renaissance painters (or maybe the middle ages?) came up with the idea of painting halos around otherworldly saintly subjects. I think the original reference was a generic glowing of light (like a ki aura) as opposed to a fixed ring shape.

Either way, I think Freeza's (and all the dead bad guys with halos) a case of the "equating nuns to miko" trope. Someone either didn't care to research or just thought it looked cool.

It doesn't bother me because I'm so used to seeing it from Z and GT anime filler.
