I'm praying God Toei won't use another Goku's lie to bring Frieza back
I mean something like a false promise to be revived if he fights loyally, only to show us a " comic" (ugh) scene after the tournament, with Frieza screaming " Damn you Goku" and prisoner in the hell again
I'd puke

Still hope that Frieza pic is some kind of Toei's antic/teasing us, I'd rather Yamcha (instead of Roshi) and Buu to be part of the Universe 7 team, but let's see how things will roll. Frieza already killed most of the team: Vegeta (twice, before Whis' time rewind in RoF) & Krillin back on Namek, Piccolo in the Resurrection 'F' arc, Androids 17 & 18 before Whis rewind time. I'd rather he won't be shown again, but hey, he sells toys.

I hope the anime at least has Goku try this.

That's what I'm thinking. If Toriyama trusts Toyotaro to design a good portion of the new gods of destruction, then surely he'd trust him to design some competitors. I'm really looking forward to trying to pick out each artist's contributions!Chuquita wrote:So maybe it's like how they divided up character creation earlier. That does sound fun; I hope they provide an answer key of sorts at the end of the arc. I liked comparing that chart for their GoDs earlier.batistabus wrote:That's what I'm thinking. Toyo also said he was a big Star Wars fan, and we got a homage to Kylo Ren/Han Solo scene with Black and Gowasubatistabus wrote:Nothing has been stated about who designed Kale, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was Toyotaro rather than Toriyama. Toyo has stated that he's a big fan of My Hero Academia, so I wouldn't be surprised if he took inspiration from that character. Either way, Kale's design still looks quite a bit like Broli, and Yaoyorozu's personality is the total opposite of her's.Chuquita wrote:-snip-
I just started watching MHA, and I'm really enjoying it! It's not revolutionary in any sense so far, but I'd recommend it.
I was a bit surprised Toyo used Momos design for Kale when she isnt that popular(the most popular girls in BNHA are Ochaco, Tsuyu and Kyouka).
I guess Hit was inspired by Jotaro, although he looks more like him in the anime.

Really hoping we'll get a guidebook at some point containing all of the original character designs as well as Toriyama's original outline.Chuquita wrote:That does sound fun; I hope they provide an answer key of sorts at the end of the arc. Vegeta had a halo despite still being sent to hell.sintzu wrote:How does someone like Freeza get a halo ? if anything he should have horns and a red tail.

Recently I've been hearing that the reason Toei did a part arc recap of the movies was something to do with 20th C Fox holding the rights to the movies themselves so Toei needed to get them back, is this true.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
At least Vegeta did something good before he died. Freeza having that is the most offensive thing I've ever seen. What's next ? the Joker on the human rights watch ?Kanassa wrote:Vegeta had a halo despite still being sent to hell.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Didn't the villains always have halo's when they were dead? I seem to remember in DBZ's filler that Freeza, Cell and the Ginyu Force always had halo's.

In the dragonball world, the halo seems to be something that just lets people know that you're dead, and not a badge of how good you were. At least if we're taking the anime filler into account. I don't remember even seeing a dead villain in the manga. I think bad people just get turned into those little puffs of fluff that float around or in Freezas case, you get to spend forever at an eternal tea party from hell. Literally.

Freeza's hell is actually very creepy when you think about it, eternally being at a place like this is enough to drive anyone insaneBoo Machine wrote:In the dragonball world, the halo seems to be something that just lets people know that you're dead, and not a badge of how good you were. Don't know if that's true, but since they wanted to keep telling stories in these 10 years gap the movie retellings were a necessary evil for people that didn't watch the Movies, and for countries that would get Super but didn't get the Movies in the first place. The Monkey King wrote:Recently I've been hearing that the reason Toei did a part arc recap of the movies was something to do with 20th C Fox holding the rights to the movies themselves so Toei needed to get them back, is this true.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Oh! I just saw the picture of Freeza. Well I guess it's pretty much confirmed now? Then I was wrong about it being a gag episode, but me making a wrong prediction for Dragonball is nothing new. In fact 90% of my predictions are wrong when it comes to this series.
Anywho, it wouldn't have been my choice to bring Freeza back, but if they're going to do it anyway, then lets see what he brings. The character interactions alone should be interesting.

Yamcha? For God's sake, no. At least Freeza is God tier and could actually do well against the likes of Jiren, Toppo etc.
We don't need aany more weaklings such as Tien, Roshi and Krillin.

I told people not to hope for otherwise.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It would've been a lot better to have them train with Whis xause although they wouldn't be as strong as Goku, Vegeta & Freeza, them being able to hold their own would be a lot more believable.Zamasu55 wrote:We don't need aany more weaklings such as Tien, Roshi and Krillin.
