What was wrong with Budokai 3's story? I never thought any of the characters' stories went on for too long.
Well, be that as it may... and the Story Mode was relatively long, after having played through that same story so many times, a long Story Mode for a new DBZ game is repetitive and boring.

And Cell's better moves.
Which ones?

Stuff like his death beam in one form getting replaced with a more generic big impact blast"

I liked the depth of Neo's story and the cinematic-ness of Meteor. Some kind of hybrid story mode would be great. It they decide to continue to be brief that's ok as well being that I have the entire Z and GT series.

When it comes to character's move lists, it does suck that there are some move that the characters only used once in the source material, especially from the storytelling aspect. But being that this is supposed to be a fighting game, I can accept itb a little better.

Fighting games in general don't really change much between iterations. you add moves or tweak them, you give the characters new features and whatnot. The upgrade from neo to Meteor was great because they allowed better movement for the characters. I can't wait to hear and see what they have planned for the upgade from Meteor to raging blast.

But the one single thing that will make raging Blast great is the Online Battles. Something that was tried with Meteor, but did not work out well.

I'll buy this game, but I don't expect anything new or exciting. Just another rehash.

1. Hands down I'm buying this game...but if they cut the characters back that much...what NEW characters could they possibly have? Maybe just same chars but newer moves?

Lots of GT characters, and many possibly DB ones.

Some new gameplay:

I don't know about you lot, but I think these graphics look nice. Not brilliant, but nice... also the framerate looks nice and smooth.

It's likely that the game is running at 60 frames per second instead of just 30 like the past games, since that does seem to be really very smooth.

Edit: It runs at 60fps, I checked a linked article in one of the previous posts and it is said the game runs at 60fps.
Smoothness mystery solved. :)

Here's an idea.
NO STORY MODE

Why not just focus on the online? Make this a brilliant online multiplayer, blow this whole online Budokai thing up, make it crazy, incredible, make it so that you're constantly coming back for more.
The story is worn, it's really time for change.

You can tell from the pre-match closeups that the character models really are a lot better.

Hey it actually looks pretty decent in motion. Nothing to write home about, but it looks like the anime.

Because as we all know, no fans have ever seen the same story a million times before.

I disagree. I'm almost sick to death of the story. It's not like it's even done that well in most games.

I hated Sparking Meteor‘s story. So I agree.

Yeah, YOU'RE sick to death of the story. Don't speak for everyone else.

Good thing I used the words "I" and "I'm" then, huh? Jeez. Before I made that post I thought about saying "Personally I disagree...", but I thought that sounded stupid. But I guess I should have done it anyway...

How about this option when the game is first started up:

"Do you want to unlock content through a long, extended, rich story mode... Or do you want to unlock content through an arcade-style mode?"

Whichever one you didn't choose, is still available, but not as an unlocking mode.

I've always been of the belief that games shouldn't require you to unlock items if you don't want to. But flat out asking you kind of defeats the purpose. A better solution is to stick with good 'ol fasion cheat codes. At the main menu press ^^vvOOXXRightTriggerSquareAAABBB and all characters and stages are unlocked (and rendering achievements null and void, where appropriate).

*Recalls her Game Genies and grins*

I miss all those things; especially the codes that allowed you to mess around with the game's programming. Stuff that would let your characters jump insanely high (and sometimes they'd get stuck off-screen but you could still move around) or ones that would let you turn objects into other types of objects, ones that'd make you either super-fast or really slow....

They don't really have stuff like that for current gen systems, do they? :(
