What are you talking about? I can take a guess, but I'd rather have you explain.Brodes wrote: So, I'm never, ever to have sex because of the view point I don't deserve to be married?
I could make up stuff, but that doesn't mean the stuff I could make up would be correct. I would much rather follow something true and correct.I do so love when people can't form their own opinions and instead hind behind that book;

I'm gay. I am deeply in love with my partner who I have been with for six years and I certainly didn't make the choice to be looked down upon as something lesser. I simply am what I am. I am unable to get married because of this.Zenkai wrote:What are you talking about? You are following something you assume to be true and correct. Which, you know, that's cool. To your own. But some people like evidence and reasoning to back up their opinions rather than just hiding behind something and saying "everything not in here is wrong". And really, the bible is just as 'true and correct' and mythology from other religions. It's a guideline to be interpreted, and has been time and time again in different ways. I mean, unless you're reading the original untranslated, you have to understand that you're reading an interpretation. Put all the faith in you want, but it's not infallible.I could make up stuff, but that doesn't mean the stuff I could make up would be correct. No, he's not correct. He has an opinion, and while I may think he's misguided and possibly even very, very wrong, he is more than welcome to that opinion. But it's not anymore fucking 'correct' than I am for saying "Revenge of the Sith is better than Return of the Jedi". I definitely think that, but I'm certainly not going to say that I'm correct and people need to fall in line with that.Zenkai wrote:You are correct.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:

I don't think being gay is a choice either. Also, just being attracted to someone of the same sex is not a sin. Gay sex, etc., however, is a sin. People who are only attracted to the same sex are called to live a life of chastity.Brodes wrote:

Have you read any great theologians? If so, you would have read some excellent reasoning. You are following something you assume to be true and correct. Which, you know, that's cool. To your own. Jesus started a Church. He didn't hand us a Bible and tell us to figure it out. He gave us a Church to guide and teach us. His Church cannot teach error. And really, the bible is just as 'true and correct' and mythology from other religions. No, no, no, no, no, no, noooo! It wasn't a fact, it was an opinion, a belief. Do not try and state a religious belief as fact, just because you're too close minded to realise not every person believes everything written in a book. Have your beliefs, that's totally fine, but don't try and ram it down all our throats as if it is law.
As for what you said to Brodes, that is just plain wrong and disrespectful. You may believe all of what you said, but what gives you the right to say to him that his sexual life is wrong? There are millions of gay people around the world and so sometimes you need to realise your religion is dated, but of course you will still see every word as holy and correct, even if it shouldn't apply in modern society.
It's not my place to do this, but this community is one that treats other members with respect, regardless of differing opinions. If you can't respect everyone on here because of your religion, I don't think you should be visiting. I'm sorry again to the mods for taking this into my own hands, but I just couldn't let slide such a lack of respect and such a sense of superiority and narrow-mindednes.

Wait, are you saying that one of the hundreds of sects of Christianity is known to be formed by Jesus personally, and still true to what he created? Now, I don't know if this is correct or not, I've never heard of it, but I always thought this couldn't be the case, because if one was known to be Jesus' personal church then all of the others wouldn't exist. You can't really say that Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnessism and, I dunno, Spiritual Baptism, are all the same religion, they vary too much, and God in the Bible is very big on the "straight and narrow road", among other metaphors. If there are X Christian denominations, X-1 of them are false religion, given that one is the truth.Zenkai wrote:Jesus started a Church. He didn't hand us a Bible and tell us to figure it out. I agree that you shouldn't tell someone that their lifestyle is wrong, but Brodes never revealed that sort of information about himself, he only said he was gay and in a long-term relationship, and I do think that Zenkai came across as just giving his opinion. Maybe I'm so used to hearing "Homosexuality is a choice, and anyone who makes that choice deserves to be horrifically tormented for eternity" that I've lowered my standards when it comes to these arguments, and I was too busy being impressed that Zenkai said that being gay isn't a choice or evil so I overlooked other things, but I didn't think it was too shocking. "Homosexuals are people who God has called to a life of chastity" is one of the best ways of viewing the subject that I've heard from a (strong) Christian. Also, I don't really think being told something is a "sin", is particularly offensive to non-Christians, or any kind of revelation.SSJJezter wrote:As for what you said to Brodes, that is just plain wrong and disrespectful. I don't know how this can be considered a misprint (or whatever) because it's not only censored but also black & white.Alpha_Flight wrote:This is one of the most derailed threads I have ever come across lol.
Is it not about the 3-in-1? All the last lot of posts have been about are animated nudity. Utterly harmless and total embodiment of early Toriyama work. Afterall, DB was a gag manga...
Back to the actual topic. I personally believe we won't see any changes. How can Viz mess up the printing if it was there whole aim to have these "uncensored"?

Where did the state that it was coloured? I thought they said "Uncut, Uncensored, Remastered". I wouldn't expect colour in a Viz 3-in-1, they're the economical option.dbboxkaifan wrote:I don't know how this can be considered a misprint (or whatever) because it's not only censored but also black & white.Alpha_Flight wrote:This is one of the most derailed threads I have ever come across lol.

Where was it stated that they would be coloured? Did I miss something? I thought that they were just promoting that they would be uncensored. If Viz did state that they would be coloured too (and I missed that point) it would awesome.dbboxkaifan wrote:I don't know how this can be considered a misprint (or whatever) because it's not only censored but also black & white.

Viz never claimed that these would be in color. They were clear that this is a cheap alternative and that the VizBig editions were staying in print for people who wanted color. Too bad, those don't contain ALL the color pages
Frankly, seeing the photos of these give me mixed feelings. Partially disappointed that we aren't getting a Kanzenban release, but partially relieved that this is a DB product that I can skip out on and save some cash

Uncut. Nope. Uncensored. Nope. Remastered. Most definetely not.
Looks like the pages were printed on tissue paper.

Why did anyone think they would be "remastered", or have any of the color pages?
Re: VIZ 3-in-1 Editions Coming Summer 2013
Well, they used the term "remastered" themselves, but no one has any idea what the hell that means for black and white drawings. It's vague buzzwording.

It has to do with Apostolic Succession (look up a definition).Fizzer wrote:

Also, for the first 1500 years of Christianity, there was not thousands and thousands of sects. The Protestant Reformation in the 1500's is what caused a lot of the disunity. There are thousands of Protestant sects, all believing something different.
By reading the early Church Fathers, we can see that the Catholic Church is the early Church. Here is a quote from St. Ignatius around the year 110 AD, which was only about 20 years after St. John wrote Revelation (the last book in the Bible). Also, St. Ignatius was a student of St. John. Anyways, here's what he said:
"Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/0109.htm
In the first 1000 years or so of Christianity, there were some disagreements, so that caused some schisms. The Great Schism of 1054 AD is when the Orthodox Church split from the Catholic Church. There were some other schisms before that time as well.
Also, there were quite a lot of heresies in the early Church, and the Catholic Church fought against those heresies and preserved Christianity.
You may be wondering where Jesus said He would start a Church, so I'll show you:
"And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18 (Douay-Rheims)
This verse shows Jesus starting His Church with St. Peter. St. Peter was the first Bishop of Rome (Pope). Jesus also says that the gates of hell would never prevail against His Church, which means His Church would continue. And His Church is still around today.
It is also worth mentioning that more than half of all professing Christians on the planet are Catholic.

The religious discussion is intriguing and all, but it's also too far off-topic. Let's try to keep the thread on track, okay?

God loves homosexuals just as much as He loves straight people. Everyone (gay people, straight people, bisexual people, etc.) all struggle with sin.

Truth will never cease being truth, even if a lot of people disagree with it.
Back on topic: does anyone have any idea what "remastered" means in terms of manga?

Once upon a time, the "truth" was that the Earth was flat.
That's the end of your discussion. Either the conversation continues on about the Viz 3-and-1 and it alone, or account strikes will start being issued.
