I'm guessing it's probably because they have a character model for him already designed, as seen in the NEO cut-scenes, so it's easier to just make a fighter out of him? Though indeed, it makes no sense, I mean what the hell can Babidi do? He's physically weaker than a friggin' cake restaurant waitress, what's he gonna do; shoot ice at people and say "A-pattipapaaa!!" all over the place? If it is just SPIKE's laziness due to already having a model done, similar to the Appule and Freeza henchman in NEO's Wii overseas release, then they seriously need to get their act together and actually try on these games rather than rehash the same story modes for the 10th time and bring in fighters that really have no place in fighting rather than very fabulous characters that do.
There people go again with the laziness comments again, you really dont know what being lazy is cause if they were this game would be far from good, why the hell shouldnt we have Babidi if he can have control over someone like Dabura etc. they by all means he should be in, and like someone already said his model was already designed from the previous game so now he's an official character giving him moves etc. so taking the time out to give him attacks isnt being lazy (plus every game/show has an obscure character than people go WTF to but who are you to judge!) and who ever said he was taking the place of someone?! you dont even know who offically gonna be in yet and as far as I'm concerned all MANGA character should be in before any non-canon characters like Wheelo giving Babidi and Spopovich top priority

It seems that Kid Goku was confirmed today during a chat with someone from Atari France. The guy said that GT Kid Goku was the character that got the most requests.

However, of all the characters that they could've added... WHY BABIDI!? If you think about it 30 new characters will be used up really quickly if they keep being wasted on characters like Babidi. What's next? GIRU?
You can't really call it wasted since you don't know if including him replaced a character or not. Chances are, it doesn't. Removing him would only, well, remove him, not give you a replacement you don't find a waste. While I think he's an odd choice, I think it's a neat choice. Especially if they get inventive with a few of his moves (looks like he's got a rush move using the energy collector).

And, for all we know, he could be in the game as part of the new original story they've mentioned...

I got that too. That was funny.

GT Goku "confirmed?" Hmmm... we'll have to wait and see.

Course, I'll likely never play this game anyway, what do I care...

Here is my theory, we have seen these pictures of Babidi and Spopovich, and the game art cover, I believe that this game could be Buu story Arc central. I mean who have we got on the game cover artwork
Goku
Gohan (Fusion Arc)
Goten
Trunks
18
Piccolo
Kuririn (Buu arc)

So I theorizing that a new part of this game could be like Babidi's spaceship like what we had in Budokai 2, but like a ultimate battle system from Sparking NEO.

Hm... the cover does look like the game's gonna be filled to the rim with Buu-saga characters. Now all we have to do is wait for the confirmation of GT Goku in the game, and we'll all be happy! :D

The people who told me about that are pretty reliable. I wouldn't have written it here if I thought it wasn't true.

I keep checking the Atari Press website. If anything new pops up, I'll let you guys know.

Ok, here's what I found. The website I found it from? I think Atari. Why I don't know for sure? I'm stupid.

Ummmmm, so where did you find this information, 'cause if it's true, that's awesome, but I think we need to see a source to verify that info.

EDIT: Oh, and you forgot to add Babidi and Spopovitch.

Ya, no Babidi and Spopovitch. :P (If this is real, they might be fake...)

Also, if that info is good, I have one thing to say: HELL YES!!!!!! :D :D :D

Would the transformations for the new characters be separate characters? In the list, it only mentions "GT Goku", "GT Vegeta", and "GT Goten". These are the base forms. What about the Super Saiyan forms? For the previous game, each of the transformations were counted as separate characters. So why in this list, there isn't a listing for the SSJ forms? There has to be more spaces for the SSJ forms, right? Unless, they're not counting every form as a separate character. Then, that would mean that the previous characters that would be added wouldn't come to 150, only 70.

I wonder what this "Dramatic Z" engine is.....if it's anything like the last games cinematics, I'll be greatly disappointed.

Someone working for Atari Europe said on the Atari Boards that Seripa (the girl from Baddack's team) would be playable...
Fake or not ? :o

And for the Dramatic Engine Z, it seems it means that the cut-scenes are gonna be better (like the first Budokai ones for example).

"Dramatic Engine Z"? My god. It seems like with each installment, Atari comes up with some random name to call the fighting engine. "Renzoku Fighting System" (or something) "Saiyan Overdrive System"... it's all gimmicky. I highly doubt Spike makes up names for their systems. I think it's all Donny Clay's doing. He hears about a concept for the game, then tacks on a name for it to make it sounds appealing. NOT BUYING IT, CLAY.

Seripa? I doubt it. Although it's quite possible - it would be in Spike's best interest to include another female character. A Saiyajin one, at that. Though, it would be pretty dumbtarded for them to add Saripa and not Toma, which, in my opinion, is a character that should've been in these games for a long time.

And LaRésistance, if what you say is true about GT Kid Goku, it's disappointing to think that you need to absolutely DEMAND for a character to be in for him to make the cut. He should be an obvious choice that should've been in since the first Sparking!.

I agree but they need to find a may to make us buy a new game each and every year .

As for the source, I read it on the Manga Myth forum (Genki's forum). People who were in the chat with the dude from Atari told us what was said during the chat. I can give you a link to the forum topic but it's in French : http://www.mangamyth.fr/viewtopic.php?t ... &start=450
