Wow, that is cool. It's little tidbits like this that perk me up about this whole thing. It shows that they really do care about the little nuances of the characters, even if it's not practical to carry ALL of them over.

Chrono Trigger wrote:The teaser trailer in Japan, I didn’t see it but a lot of people said they saw it. They describe it that characters don’t appear at first, but the solar eclipse appears in space (like the image Danny Boyle director’s Sunshine) and the eclipse changes to a dragon ball and seven balls fly in space and DRAGONBALL logo appears. Narration is Ichirou Nagai, Japanese famous voice actor in dragonball anime, voice of karin-sama (Goku’s master cat) and Tsuru sennin. If I see teaser trailer I report it.

That's fucking awesome.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

We also have an interesting tidbit from our very own Jesse J via IMDB. It seems there will be an animated portion of the movie.

Animation Department
Mike Jahnke …. lead animator
Jason Labbe …. character rigging
Louis Leung …. animator
Mario Pochat …. animation supervisor
Agustin Robles Villegas …. previsualization artist

So...are we talking something like that Kung Fu Panda opening 2-D sequence or the "adaption" versions of the characters in Toriyama style?

Or none of that is known yet?

It's not known yet but If I had to guess it's probably gonna be used as the opening credits, showing Goku leaving planet Vegeta and talking about the Dragon Balls and "Lord" Piccolo. It'd be the best thing ever if it was done in Mr. Toriyama's art style but I think they are gonna model it after the "movieverse" characters.

Perhaps something done for an intro, mimicking traditional eastern art, relating Piccolo's history and sealing away? Then it might segue into Goku's pod landing or something, and who knows what from there.

Pullin' a Hellboy 2 intro in a way perhaps? Sounds interesting.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Because it would make entirely too much sense and be completely logical ?

Well, that sucks. They did pretty well with Chatwin's costume. Was green face paint and a good make-up artist not in the budget?

It's because green's not "scary" enough for them. :?

But seriously, if they can do this:
Image

Then why in the name of all that is good would they NOT make Piccolo green?

I wish Peter Jackson could have directed this movie. Either him or Christopher Nolan. :(

There are a lot of things that I'm not liking so far but most of those things I can just kinda laugh and joke about... like the whole "Goku Parker, a normal high school kid..." thing. But this actually really makes me kinda sad. If I wanna joke about it, it feels half-hearted.

Albino Piccolo the Alien White Supremacist.

I think that's part of it; I mean I could easily poke fun at what they did to Goku and Chi-Chi, but what they've done to Piccolo is embarrassing, humiliating, and completely unprofessional.
