Right now, it's looking like it'll go the same way as
Dragon Ball Online, where I consider it its own AU separate from GTR and mostly ignore it aside from maybe a few small nods.
Things like Kaio already having his planet back or switching Pan to be older than Bra are minor and easy to work in, and probably will be. Things like Goku having some crazy amount of godly power that he can pull out and use whenever he needs it? Yeah, that's... that would affect things a little bit more. I think maybe we'll assume that in this universe, Beerus decided to sleep in for a few more decades.
So, since the thread's been bumped... again... a progress update. I've recovered from the slump I suffered after the February 14th goal was a no-go, and Chapter 17's almost done now. But like I similarly mentioned on Twitter a few days ago, the thing is ending up freakin' LONG. Like, 30+ pages long. So even once I'm done, I'm going to have a lot of condensing and trimming work to do in order to cut this baby down to something that people won't starve to death while reading. So that might take a little while. But I've got character bios in store for Orris, Silva, and Prika, which I'll try to crank out once the chapter's "done" and while I'm doing that. I'm going to stop at nothing to get this thing out by the end of March. No way in hell I'm letting "3 chapters per year" happen again.
Beyond that, once the Koum arc is done... now that I've figured out how I'll be integrating things from
Battle of Gods (that being NOT doing so), I can get started on what I was waiting for: rewrites of the earlier "Volume One" chapters. The drastic differences will primarily be in the first few chapters set during the tournament, and most of what will happen overall is axing anything major from DBO that was there for the sake of being from DBO
(y'all can kiss Jeanie and Boobie goodbye... Hee-hee, "Boobie"), and adjusting things for consistency
(like some place and character names, and aforementioned Bra/Pan ages, and stuff like that).
I've got two more short "meanwhile, back on Earth" one-chapter stories in the pipeline before the crew in space's next adventure. The plan is that I'll try to churn one of them out BEFORE I do the rewrites, while still finalizing my plans for them. Then I'll do the drastic first-couple-chapters rewrites, which will kind of be big updates of their own, and then I'll crank out the second Earth-chapter while doing the later and less drastic rewrites.
After that... it's the adapted Grand Tour story you've all been waiting for.
