Not bad at all

It's really no different than how he's always been. I seem to remember him forgetting fairly significant details and events during serialization. It's been 15+ years since he finished the manga, so to me this isn't at all surprising or shocking--funny, if anything.Marco Polo wrote:I for one don't find it funnyTanooki Kuribo wrote:That little Android 18 mistake put a smile on my face. I like to think Vegeta's gotten caught up in his training or something.dbzfan7 wrote:So if this is about Bulma's birthday, why wouldn't Goku or Vegeta be there? You would think Vegeta would care about his wife to show up, and Goku would care to show up to an important day for the first friend he ever had, and they both would be able to eat a huge amount of food.
Vegeta cares about Bulma (they're definitely closer by the Buu arc) so it makes me think that something happened. I'm still kinda sticking by my "Goku accidentally destroyed and/or ate whatever it was Vegeta got for Bulma, so Vegeta's angrily dragging Goku along with him in a last-minute rush to get a replacement gift for Bulma." theory until more info is revealed.dbzfan7 wrote:So if this is about Bulma's birthday, why wouldn't Goku or Vegeta be there? Yeah but it seems like Goku would be compassionate to his friends when it comes to something important. I almost forgot how he never saw the briefs in 5 years. Goku never ceases to amaze me with how he acts, I can never pinpoint what he would do. The movie will probably confuse me even more.CaBrPi wrote:I like to think Vegeta's gotten caught up in his training or something.dbzfan7 wrote:So if this is about Bulma's birthday, why wouldn't Goku or Vegeta be there? And Goku's Goku. There are two times he's mentioned to have not seen anyone outside of his family for five years.
Well, yeah. Goku obviously loves his friends, but he's not exactly familiar with social norms and standards... He probably doesn't even think that Bulma and the others might like to see him every once in a while.dbzfan7 wrote:Yeah but it seems like Goku would be compassionate to his friends when it comes to something important. Vegeta would probably be forced to show up, and I think Bulma would have made sure he was with her at all times.
I would be surprised if he didn't think people wanted to see him. He is the one who affected all their lives. He has changed every friend he has ever met. I would think Goku by now would be smart enough to understand that. I can understand training getting in the way though.CaBrPi wrote:Well, yeah. And with Vegeta... I dunno. He's more of a wildcard than Goku is, in my opinion, just because you never know if he's in "loving father" mode or "train train train" mode. Goku's almost always in the latter.
Because "Ah, yes. I remember now. Blond hair is stronger than black hair! I had forgotten that hair color matters...". =PDragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Didn't Toriyama say he read through manga to make sure he didn't forget important information? Maybe he made Gohan SSj for a good reason?
In Gohan's case yes. You would think Gohan's Ultimate power unleashing moment would be remembered. Then again it was pretty short lived.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Because "Ah, yes. I remember now. Mystic is not a form. Mystic is all of his power brought out into his base. He has access to it without a transformation. He should still have it.Karasai wrote:Gohan hasnt been practicing much, which is why he cant use his Mystic form anymore.
I'm sure they'll use that excuse. They've used it before.
The details of Gohan's new powers have never been elucidated in the manga or guidebooks except for some vague explanation. Let alone making it strict like you are saying.dbzfan7 wrote:Mystic is not a form. Mystic is all of his power brought out into his base. He has access to it without a transformation. I don't believe he would forget something like that, the same way he wouldn't forget the Kaio-ken or the other forms of Super Saiyan. He drew hundreds of panels of Gohan like that.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Didn't Toriyama say he read through manga to make sure he didn't forget important information? The Elder Kaioshin himself said transformations are the wrong way of doing things. Would you call Guru's power up a form too? It wasn't necessary for Gohan to "turn on" his new powers in Saichourou case. So they are not the same.dbzfan7 wrote:The Elder Kaioshin himself said transformations are the wrong way of doing things. Would you call Guru's power up a form too? It's the same concept but expanded upon.
