Ohoho WRONG. I only stated that while somebody was all like "Dude, date her", I simply said, "She may look like Sloth from The Goonies". As for the relationship between Goku and Chi-chi in the film, I cringed several times during the film because of the awful hamfisted dialogue, it's not only a departure from the original, it's just plain awful.

And that definitely had everything to do with Dragonball evolution.Pain wrote: Ohoho WRONG. I only stated that while somebody was all like "Dude, date her", I simply said, "She may look like Sloth from The Goonies". So did I really support what I was against, in the first place? Really?
I really don't care if the thread gets de-railed, but you can't tell everyone to get back on-topic after you've helped everyone get there in the first place.

The cover is ok, I suppose. Certainly better than the other poster.
Although with the 'Master Your Destiny' gone, it doesn't make as much sense to divide up the colors. I would prefer it if they tweaked the picture to look like this, placing Piccolo just under Goku.

Your edit's definitely an improvement. :3
Without the tinted layers the poster version sports, the colors appear disjointed on Amazon's dvd cover; so it looks more aesthetically pleasing to split them into blue hues and red hues if you're not going to have those layers because of how super-bright they look without it.

But... isn't she?Pain wrote:I feel as though people are angry just because Son doesn't treat Chi-Chi like "Some Crazy Bitch". I mean, he can't be a total douche to everyone, can he?
She was a pre-teen girl who fell in love (obsession) with two boys in the same day in a matter of seconds. One of whom, some might argue, was the equivalent of a retarded child.
She then insinuated said retarded child should come marry her when she grows up.
Now, one might think this girl who has no problem falling in love with anyone she makes eye contact with might take the hint after a decade of having not heard from the retarded child.
No.
For some reason, this girl "tracks down" (stalked) the retarded boy she flirted with for a few minutes when she was a kid and forces him to marry her.
Skip ahead a few years. After procuring the retard's seed, she loses all affection for him, shifting her obsession on to her child. How she went about having a child with him is left to reader interpretation.
I'd say Chi-chi deserves to be called a "crazy bitch", or at least "disturbed" or "psychotic".

What's so wrong about that?
A huge part of my childhood was watching shallow action movies / cartoons / anime that were made specifically for kids.
I mean sure I can bash shows like Pokemon now, but that would just be pathetic. It's not made FOR my age range, it's made for kids. An adult bashing a kids show is just... unneeded. Like what did you expect, an R-rated masterpiece?

It is a shallow action movie. I'm saying don't expect a compelling plot or grade-A acting. I enjoyed the movie, I'm bashing nothing.JAPPO wrote:What's so wrong about that?A huge part of my childhood was watching shallow action movies / cartoons / anime that were made specifically for kids.

He didn't act retarded for the bit she was around him. Plus he felt her up. And then he did promise to come back and marry her.MisterFlashdude wrote:She then insinuated said retarded child should come marry her when she grows up.
Plus, she can ride the Nimbus, so she's still a better person than Bulma or Krillin.
Haha, I've considered it, but I think I'll focus on my other targets.JulieYBM wrote:Sounds like a keeper to me, Johnny-boy!
PS: Johny-boy? That really used to be my nickname actually. In fact, just the other day I got a random text from someone calling me that. Must be one of my babes from jr. high, which is where I got that nickname (among many others, including Rambo).

Wow I just checked times for this movie and it's already gone. Not even at the dollar theater yet, I guess I ended up being the one against seeing the movie, or just not caring much to see it. Still gonna buy it on blu-ray though when it comes out.
Does anybody know if there's a DVD/Blu-ray release date yet?

Whoa its gone from theaters already?
My local theaters still have it listed for showtimes, but the mini-review section for movies in general doesn't have it listed there. (They did have a regular review for it the week after it came out.)
USAToday's LIFE section had a big thing on summer action movie blockbusters in it today too. They listed movies from May all the way til August. I guess if it'd come out when it was originally supposed to, DBE might've been given a small nod in last year's.
Is it strange I feel a bit melancholy about it not even being mentioned? I mean, in all honesty I really hate Chatku, but I have this feeling that FOX could've done something bigger, something spectacular; but because of a variety of unknown--to me anyway--issues, had to settle for something less. I can't help, but feel a little bit deprived. Transformers, Star Trek, and Avatar the Last Airbender all get super-high-tech movies. Why couldn't we?

I have this feeling they could have done better because they're filthy rich, but didn't because they're hacks.Chuquita wrote:I have this feeling that FOX could've done something bigger, something spectacular; but because of a variety of unknown--to me anyway--issues, had to settle for something less.
Here's a game:
Find some good movies among the trash and the unremarkable!

So they're behind those ugly-looking Garfield movies, eh?
This entire thing only proves how little interest I've had in cinema until the whole "live action Dragon Ball" thing started a couple years back. o_O
Of that entire list of FOX movies from the 2000's, I've only seen, including DBE, 4 of them all the way through. (That's from beginning to end; some of these others like the X-Men movies I've stumbled upon in the middle or end of while flipping channels on TV, and therefore cannot give a fully informed rating to.)
I've seen Cast Away (too long ago to remember my thoughts on it), Moulin Rouge (also long ago, but I remember liking some of the music from it) and The Day After Tomorrow, which is one of those natural-disaster movies I like simply for the special effects. I honestly forget what the plot of that movie was about. I mostly remember the whole "New York is flooding! Let's seek shelter in the library! We need heat! We'll burn the books. No don't burn the books, they're books! Let's try the basement. Oh no the basement is flooded! But I need to call my dad who is a brilliant scientist on the phone so he can rescue us!" and the whole guys-traveling through snow and there were these wolves that got to one of them and in the end of the movie everyone moved to Mexico or something like that. Funny, Emmy Rossum is in that movie too; but I don't remember her being in it at all.
But yeah; very few high-off-the-ground films listed there. I don't think FOX has really had a super-home-run since Titanic, though I'm not a movie-money expert so I could be wrong.
*Checks Titanic's Wiki Page*
Okay, that just cements that FOX can do better than whatever they did with DBE. Work harder! Show some initiative! I know you can't pull a Titanic out of Dragon Ball, FOX, but if you reboot with a higher quality cast/director/writer I know you can get better results if you work at it!The film accumulated a grand total of $1,848,813,795 worldwide, and to this day Titanic retains the record as the most successful box office film in history, unadjusted for inflation.
*Sits tight and hopes for an eventual reboot*.

Ah. Emmerich. I almost disavowed you when Boll appeared... but then, I finally watched your Godzilla.
