No, no, no, no. It's dark comedy.
Black comedy is something entirely different
They can be used interchangeable.
I dunno. One usually involves Chris Rock, the other involves disturbing topics, yet is still funny.

Actually, maybe they can be used interchangeably

You don't know why people like an entertaining character who has been around from the start and has some entertaining fights even though he loses?

Piccolo loses every fight after Radditz too (and even then he needed Goku to hold him back), so what difference does it make? None of the fighters have good track records in DBZ.
1) Please explain why Yamcha is so entertaining. He has hardly even appeared throughout the series. What makes his fights so entertaining? Whenever he had them he usually just get beat up throughout and they were very short. What exactly are you clinging on to?

2) What does the second part of your post have to do with what I said? The guy said that he wants the Yamcha meme to die and I explained that Yamcha has been useless from the start.

When I was a kid and saw the death for the first time, I didn't think it was funny. In fact Yamcha's death pose did not become a meme until like 15 years after that episode aired. Had Yamcha been the only character who died, and Tenshihan and Piccolo at least survived long enough for Goku to show up, it would have been a different story. And as I said, what did you think Toriyama's intentions were? He obviously wrote in a first early death to raise the stakes for that arc and show what a serious threat the Saiyans were and set the mood for the rest of the fight.

You can literally right now go to youtube and watch how that death scene played out in the original, nothing about it seemed, "Oh look that character died," but rather, "What, the main characters are dying? Is everyone else going to survive?"
It really doesn't matter how you personally reaction. Given how Yamcha's death is a meme and is treated as a funny moment, most don't think his death was sad. They treat it as an unintentional funny moment, hence Narm, which is a YMMV trope on TV Tropes. Meaning, it's a subjective audience reaction. What maybe dramatic for you isn't for someone else. I personally found Yamcha's death as funny in a "you got killed a mook". The same with Goku being tagged by a laser is played for drama in Resurrection 'F', yet I find the moment hilarious. Intentions, doesn't matter. Even Toriyama meant for the scene to be dramatic and sad doesn't mean the audience will react the way you want. The Narm trope, if you bothered to read it, came from Six Feet Under when Nate suffers a brain embolism. It wasn't funny at all in the show and it was meant to scare the audience, but most people laughed because of the way the scene was delivered.

Tien used the last of his energy to attack Nappa and Piccolo gave his life to protected Gohan from Nappa. Yamcha just got blown up because he dropped his guard. Not really the same thing.

I have watched the original death scene, thank you. I still find it funny.
Sorry if this sounds dumb. Can you explain what is going on with Geekdom?

Unless you didn't watch Dragonball, Yamcha is a major character from the first arc at least until the end of the Cell saga. Personality wise Yamcha has always been entertaining and funny, in the same manner Krillin is, and is a nice change of pace from all the stoic, "I have to get stronger" type personalities half the rest of the main cast has. It's the same reasons some find Tenshinhan "boring" because that's all his personality is a lot of the time.

As for short? Yamcha's fights in the tournaments, at least in the anime, were full episodes. Same with his fight against Invisible man. Same with the Saibaman. Then we see him get attacked by Cell Jr's. but he helps with Cell at least in the anime.

NOBODY wins fights in DBZ outside of Goku/Gohan/Vegeta. Piccolo never wins a fight after Radditz. Krillin doesn't either outside the Saibaman, neither does Tenshihan.

Piccolo defeated the Saiberman in one-shot, unlike Yamcha who went up in smoke. Also, Piccolo bodied Android 20, the same android that put his hand through Yamcha. So saying he never wins a fight after Raditz isn't really true. As for Krillin, got to chop off Freeza's tail and would have killed Vegeta if Goku didn't stop him. Tien pinned Semi-Perfect Cell and beat his Saiberman without dying.

So, this is kind of a false narrative since even when the character don't 'win' as you put it, they have done more than Yamcha.

Also this: "Yamcha is a major character from the first arc at least until the end of the Cell saga"

Yamcha wasn't a main character for most of the Red Ribbon Army Saga. He did't show up until the last third. He also did nothing of note in the King Piccolo Saga, despite not being dead like Krillin. He also dead for the entire Namek/Freeza Saga.

It was never treated this way until some teenagers came to the internet who never watched the original Dragonball and began judging non-Saiyans as useless. I don't know if you were online in the early 2000's, but I used to see, "Krillin is useless" posts all the time back then. It just died down over time.

I know this, but the thing is judging characters on their wins is pointless since outside of Goku/Vegeta/Gohan, the rest of the main cast either loses or never finishes their fights before they're interrupted. I think people often forget how little fighting Piccolo does in DBZ overall. Probably because he has a lot of fights in the movies so people forget what he's treated in the main series. He does get a lot of good fights in the Cell arc but that's in since he doesn't have a real fight in the Buu saga at all.

Not being involved in every arc doesn't make you not a major character. The majority of the Red Ribbon arc was Goku only besides the General Blue episodes anyway. Likewise the same for the King Piccolo saga besides introducing Yajirobe who was a new character at the time.

Did fans laught at Yamcha's death back when it was broadcasted for the first time in either JP or the west or did people start laughting at his death after some random guy on the internet made a viral meme out of his death?

That is kind of assumption your part that some teenager made Yamcha's death funny and it spread. Instead of, you know, people finding it funny for the reasons I named. Krillin is still the butt monkey, he's just not as big as butt monkey as Yamcha since he still got some cool moments and didn't die to some mook grown out of the ground.

Judging on wins is pointless since no one really had a great record. Most of Goku's wins in Z came from team work. He has almost no solo kills outside of Nappa and the Ginyu Force. Even Gohan killing Cell was a team effect. Piccolo's fight record in the movies isn't that much better than the actual show. He gets stomps just like everyone else until Goku kills the villain.

He really isn't a major character since the arcs he was even in he wasn't that important. If you removed Yamcha altogether, the story wouldn't change outside of the first story arc. Meaning the Yamcha at his best was just an important secondary character. The King Piccolo Saga had Tien, Roshi, and even freaking Chiaotzu do something. Yamcha literally did nothing in that arc.

Ok let's just hope people aren't stupid enough to think Freeza's betraying the universe now that's been proven wrong. We all remember what happened what happened when you dumbasses thought caulifla of all people was the legendary super saiyan.

Yamcha's death was written back when...in the late 80's or early 90's? How many years later did it take for that pose to become a meme? The internet wasn't even widespread till 1997 or so, and even then it felt like it didn't become a big deal till around the mid-2000's when DBZ was popular in the west. I very much doubt Japanese Dragonball fans in the 80's and 90's who watched those episodes or read the manga for the first time with no knowledge of what was going to happen didn't see it that way.
Judging on wins is pointless since no one really had a great record. Most of Goku's wins in Z came from team work. He has almost no solo kills outside of Nappa and the Ginyu Force. Which tends to be my point, no character has that much a good track record in DBZ. When Yamcha does fight he's never treated as differently than anyone else. I often see people post things about Yamcha beaten up by Cell Jr's...wtf? Like the entire rest of the cast including Goku and Vegeta weren't beaten up the same way. Also when you take the fact that Dr. Gero confused Yamcha's power level for Goku's, and then surprised him by immediately draining his energy and stabbing him through the chest, it's not really considered a fight.
He really isn't a major character since the arcs he was even in he wasn't that important. If you removed Yamcha altogether, the story wouldn't change outside of the first story arc. I will give you that he didn't do anything in the King Piccolo saga, but for Dragonball as a whole everyone viewed him as a major character. He's treated similar in DBZ but like all the humans is pushed aside to make way for Piccolo and the inevitable Saiyan domination of the franchise.

I want the "Yamcha is useless ew" meme to die by actually giving him a worthwhile moment.
Roshi is strong than Yamcha now so why would that happen? Yamcha has nothing to provide.

The meme will never die since it's been with him since the start. Yamcha has jobbed in every single major fight that he has ever been in besides the one in Baba's tournament where he would have lost that one as well without outside interference.

I seriously don't understand why people like his character
How the fuck is Roshi stronger than Yamcha now? Piss off with that joke. Just because Toriyama is suddenly in love with Roshi again and includes him in RoF and in the U7 team, doesn't mean he's stronger than Yamcha. He didn't fight during the Saiyajin, Frieza or Cell saga because he retired back in Dragon Ball. His students had already surpassed him. You're saying that because he did some training in a short amount of time, he's suddenly stronger than Yamcha now, what?

You don't understand why people like him? This actually might come as a surprise for you, but some people actually grew up with Dragon Ball and luckily didn't start with DBZEE. He was a major character and was one of the first Z-Fighters to be introduced. As he's one of the first fighters to be introduced, we follow him and get attached to him. Sure, he might not be the strongest and he's nothing compared to the Saiyajins but he's still pretty strong with a very unique skill set. By the time all the Saiyajins were introduced, his time as a fighter is over, but that still doesn't change the fact that some have been a fan of him since he was first introduced. I'm not suddenly going to be all "fuck, he's so weak now, he's pure garbage. SUPER SAIYAJINS FOREVER!". Hell no. I like strong characters, sure. My favorite characters include Goku, Trunks and Vegeta. Are strong characters everything? No.

I don't get how some people like you and especially HeroR can hold such a big ass hatred for a character. Looking at you guys, writing, shitting at him and doing everything you can, to tell the world that he's fucking shit, is pathetic. Yeah he's a joke character to many people now, but he sure as hell wasn't back then during the original run. Even people who laugh at him now because of the internet, still like him. Gintama's mangaka makes fun of him, but he's still one of his favorite characters. Toei have shown several times that they like him too. Most people who hate Yamcha probably grew up with the American dub of Dragon Ball Z. Of course there are many people who don't like him, even though they grew up with Dragon Ball. But what's with the hate? Did he kill your mother or something?

Of course, Yamcha's death wasn't written as a joke, none of his defeats were. The thing is, that was at the time.

After Dragon Ball I cant name one thing Yamcha did that served the story in any way other than being a loveable loser. He is a Z fighter but I wouldnt call him a main character.

To be honest the only real main characters since Z would be Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Bulma and on occasion Future Trunks. Plus the villain of the arcs of course.

Not being a main character doesnt mean you arent important in some way though. There has never been a series or arc Yamcha was featured in as being important since his bandit days.

Just my two cents.

I like that he is a very sneaky and is probably going to trick Sidra to team up with him just to have Sidra be kick out of the Tournament. The less universes, the more of a chance that he can win. Having agents going under cover him to get information on the Universes is a really cool idea in my opinion.
Plus, this has the added benefit of making sure that some of Universe 7's warriors aren't at their peak when starting the tournament since when the assassins are dealt with, there'll probably be little time to recover.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:
