You mean we'll get something new, like making an strategic alliance with an enemy to fight the new ones. No, this has never happened before. Oh, wait...
Hey it's better than Freeza goes to another team just so we can have Goku & Vegeta vs Freeza #5034418320.

That hyperbole doesn't work considering this would be the third time... But other than that I hear ya actually, if they are going to bring Freeza back than a new dynamic would be ideal especially given how contrived the circumstances around his participation is.

I really wish he would, as well. This tournament would be perfect if he were in it somehow as well.

Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Android 17, Android 18, Krillin, Piccolo, Roshi, Tien, Frieza, and Buu are all my favorite characters in the timeline. I just love all these guys and their interactions with each other.

I would love to see Cell too, but I highly doubt we ever will again.

Cell would've been amazing! The conflict between him and Gohan, and especially with Gohan being Team Leader? Yes.
I'm half-convinced Cell hasn't reappeared because of how difficult to animate all those spots of his are. Both Freeza and Buu have cleaner character designs.

Yeah, I recall there being a post earlier in this thread referencing an animator's comment on how difficult he is. That and the fact that Cell may not be as popular in Japan. I really liked him, and it's kinda sad. I am pretty happy with who we have currently though ... just need Buu to wake up and participate.

Edited: Things are turning into quite the interesting story lol. I'm excited to see what could possibly happen in these upcoming episodes now. Also glad the tournament is finally going to start soon.

Yeah it's quite sad that one of big bright sparks in the mess that is YouTube has gone down the path he talked about he'd never go. The "leaked" episodes video got 183k views, of course he isn't gonna take that down, shame really. No matter what people say deep down on YT everything comes down to views and money.
Geekdom was in the r/dbz Discord chat for quite a while yesterday, asking whether the leaks had been confirmed because he didn't want to go live with fake news. Multiple people, r/dbz mods included, backed up the idea that the leaks seemed quite credible (which they did; we've never seen such elaborate and stylistically accurate fakes before), and eventually they were widespread fandom news regardless. There's no love lost between me and the Dragon Ball YouTube scene, but lay off the guy. Wasn't an easy call and he did due diligence.
Every time I have made a mistake, I have admitted to it and corrected it.

Every. Single. Time. Without fail.

The last time I made a mistake, I demonetized the video I made a mistake on. The time before that, I deleted the original video.

The idea of me only caring about views and money is complete nonsense and always has been.

So if this makes me lose credibility in anybody's eyes - fine - so be it. But you can NEVER say I lied to you or do it for the money. That's a fallacy.

I can't be arsed to read up on this conversation but I will own up to being the most credulous r/dbz mod in question. Like Cipher said, the sophistication of this particular hoax is unprecedented so I don't feel embarrassed about that or anything; I did make sure to point out repeatedly in my thread on the subject at r/dbz that it was unconfirmed despite my personal feelings about it. I was the one who posted in our discord about Toshio's tweet before psykomatikk pointed out that it was old news, and Geekdom was there. Should he have waited? Probably, but I can understand why he felt pressured to make some kind of video and I can understand why he was convinced by Toshio's tweet, even if I didn't take it quite the same way. Geekdom does care about getting it right and considering that there are hundreds of thousands of people who depend on YouTubers for their DB news, I'm glad we have a few who give a shit about being right despite the fact that they could probably make more money with bullshit clickbait. Geekdom is the kind of guy who will learn something from this mistake (as we all did) and be even better in the future.

No it's like the 7th or 8th time actually pending on the idea of having Freeza come back in some form has been used. Let's not hide behind the vast undefined C word to try and throw away how many times the idea has actually been done.

I must say, I was shocked you uploaded the video with those leaks info so earlier, but now that people is saying you checked in Reddit or something and some other guys back you up, it explains the precipitation. But I don't think we must judge you like you are after money or something. That's nonsense. Baggie Saiyan and RedHeat are talking like if they discovered God doesn't exist or something, lol. Chill, it's an honest mistake.

I always watch your videos Geekdom, you didn't loose credibility in my eyes, but just next time wait a little, like when a couple of weeks ago you decided not to upload videos about the Freezer leaks and instead of that you waited for the proper sources.

Let's just agree the fake leaks are getting tougher and tougher to decipher. Some people with A LOT of time to waste are putting too much work and sophistication in those things and we can fall in those traps. I don't care about the Freezer stuff, I still don't believe 2chan.

PS: Don't let all of this distract you from the fact that Freeza's resurrection is still crap, no matter where he ends up fighting.

I think if the Tournament starts in July, I didn't mind the long wait for it because we got a lot of interesting character interactions and build up for it. I can see the tournament ending until at least September and maybe have the new arc start in October.

I would've agreed but now it's just getting too long. The tournament should've started episode 93 at the latest.

If the tournament starts in July and ends in September then fuck this arc. It needs to end November at the earliest for this buildup to be satisfying.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

What's painfully ironic is that i had this information at around, 3 or 4PM eastern? I waited until 10PM and was talking to a lot of different people including the r/dbz, Ken Xyro, other Youtubers, etc, trying to confirm it. The only reason I uploaded it at all was because of Toshio confirming episode 94.

I talked to the smartest fans in the world about this before uploading it. Do I regret uploading it? Yes.

Don't put too much thought on it, man. Let it go. We all make mistakes, especially when there's stupid people working hard for us to fail. Your channel is really good. Don't listen to the haters.

Don't be too discouraged. Despite your goal of being the most accurate Youtuber for your fans, mistakes are always bound to happen. Leaks based off of parts of titles/predictions and the fact that Toshio confirmed his writing of episode 94 some time ago (not many knew) make it harder to detect. It's trickier indeed, but the best option I think everyone needs to just do now is wait for Official scans no matter the case. Speculation of leaks and things like that is fine, but some people who say things like "100 PERCENT CONFIRMED WITH THE BEST OF THE BEST EVIDENCE!" is not helping. The best evidence are the actual scans themselves :D.

However, I think we should all wait and see how this plays out. Some of the info could still be somewhat true or be a possibility of happening. Just take everything with a grain of salt ;)

What's keeping me invested is that the "fake leaks" accurately named 97 and 98 (no title but still). Like that tells me something.

The most important thing going forward is to avoid saying something is confirmed without a true, full confirmation. Even when I thought Toshio's tweet meant something, I only took it as a small partial confirmation - one staff listing for one episode. Hardly the full deal.

We can't avoid fake leaks altogether; the clickbaiters are always going to make sure that the fakes get a lot of attention, so it's better to address it with disclaimers than to ignore it altogether. I can understand why Herms won't touch anything without a scan these days; he has a pretty unique place in the fandom and people take his opinion as Word of God. We all have to judge for ourselves how influential we are and act accordingly.

I'd like the fake leaks to be real, but only because I still don't like the idea of Freeza ever turning good, but that could still sort itself out even with him still on Team 7. He can stay evil and still be on their team.

I'm also not a fan of the mean spirited Yamcha jokes unless they have a payoff, which so far they haven't.

Also I'm still disappointed about Buu.

But yeah, waiting for Herms is best.
