So who exactly is the blue guy with white hair?

I havent checked in much on this so I thought he was like a Kai or something.

I remember the glimpse of him in the earlier trailer, he looked way cooloer then. I thought he was way shorter and would have had Kai clothes or like a robe on.

EDIT: And I really hate this human/saiyan cross breed thing. It completely underminds the whole point of the saiyan race if just anyone can do it.

I wouldnt want to see any other saiyans really after Pan and Goten/Trunks since it would be less than 1/4th saiyan. I really hate there were no more girl saiyans, the saiyan race should have lived on, not turn into ....what its turned into.

God, I am so amazed with the amount of thought and effort that was put into the story of Dragon Ball Online. If Toei was this imaginitive then maybe GT would have ended up half decent.

I agree with you 100% on that. Or maybe an OVA of some sort that's outside of the game itself.

Either one would be spectacular! Also it'd be a great way to introduce people to DBO who may otherwise be unaware of it. A way to gain interest.


I'm really curious to learn the identity of the woman who created Miira and why she did it.

Also, nothing in the DBO history so far about Piccolo or Vegeta; I'm kinda saddened about that and hoping they will mention something about what happened with each of them.

Well, Piccolo is the inspiration for two different popular Namekian martial arts...not too sure about Vegeta though...


Also, I'd love for a monthly comic in V-JUMP or a new anime to be based off this. I think Toei's just a big enough milker to actually make a full series. :p

Technically, not anyone can do it. The Saiyan blood is so diluted that the only way to awaken it is to collect the seven Dragon Balls and wish for it (at level 50).

Even then, the ability is fairly limited (lasts for only 10 minutes and can only be used once an hour), so it's really more of a "last ditch effort" ability, not something they can pull out whenever they want.

By that logic, I'm guessing you can make way more wishes than 'once a year'

I was really hoping the 'dbo' was going to still more to DBZ and DB instead of some side project in future time.

It was bastardized the moment anyone other than Goku could do the "legendary transformation." I think we've had long enough to get over it. I doubt last ditch bursts of power that're extremely temporary is going to ruin the "legend" anymore than the "Super Saiyan Bargain Sale" (as Vegeta put it) we had during the actual series did.

I'm not much one for MMOs either. I tried to play Maple Story because my friends wanted a game they could play with me and I played WoW once at my friend's house, but the fun of those wore off rather quickly for me. I'm much more optimistic about this game than I have been about any Dragon Ball game for a while now, and I hope it makes me rethink MMOs.

I can't put my finger on why, but I can't imagine people trying to obtain all 7 balls every hour on the hour and transforming for only ten minutes of the hour. The ability seems pretty damn limited.

Yeah, this seems to be completely be based off the manga and ignores the anime as a whole. I've seen some screenshots of Karin being blue and Piccolo with the red sash that's shown in the anime, so it seems pretty definative. So since GT is never even in the manga, it's going to be completely ignored.

Yeah, I found it pretty interesting that Piccolo's kind of like a (presumably living) legend.

And as for Vegeta, I have a theory as to what happened to him. I remember in one of the Daizenshuu Toriyama said something about Vegeta probably being the first to die due to high blood pressure, so... Vegeta, you will be missed.

Namekians have three fingers, Karin's blue, etc.. In an interview, one of the developers mentioned that they were staying as true to the manga as possible when asked about GT.

It's also worth noting that Akira Toriyama's really involved in the game, and has to sign off on every single character design, scenery, item, and story element introduced in the game.


Also, a minor bit of news: Basically, within just four days of the Open Beta going live, they already had hundreds of thousands of players, and were forced to restrict access to the servers to deal with the demand. The game's noted as being family friendly, and seems to be popular amongst both children and adults, who fondly remember watching the anime and reading the manga. Akira Toriyama's supervision is also given a lot of credit for how well the game came together. The success is expected to continue, and there's some speculation that it'll become one of the games to gain mainstream national attention in Korea.

The release of the open beta also caused it to jump up 21 places on the Korean online game ranking, making it the 8th most popular online game in Korea, falling just behind titles like WoW, Lineage II, and Maplestory.
