"J-Stars Victory VS+" Official Discussion Thread

With Namco Bandai making both Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle and Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers (both coming out this year), do you guys think that's a sign we might get a Jojo (probably Jotaro with Star Platinum, Star Platinum The World being the powerup) and Seiya (with Seiya wearing the Pegasus God Cloth for his powerup)? I figure since they already have the licenses, why not take advantage of it?

I hope if we do get villains from all series, we get either Freeza for the nostalgia, or Beers for the high level fighting.

Starjun for Toriko, maybe Crocodile for Luffy, Younger Toguro for Yusuke, Aizen for Ichigo, etc.

I dont doubt it. I'm still waiting on Yoh Asakura from Shaman King to be announced. Other than that I just pray Bobobo isnt announced.

I actually kinda want Bobobo to be announced. I don't care for the series at all, but the more I think about it, the more he'd fit. I mean, we want characters that'll play wildly different from each other, right? ...It doesn't get more 'different' than a guy who beats you down with his nose hairs.

At this point, I'm mostly hoping for him, Kinnikuman, Arale Norimaki, Wingman, Yugi, Yoh, and maybe something crazy like...I'unno. Light Yagami. I dunno how that'd work, but he was in the DS games, so why not?

Oh! And I'd love for Kazuki Muto from Buso Renkin to make the cut, but it won't happen. I'll literally need new pants if it does somehow, cuz it just won't, I'm sure.

I also got to thinking - anyone else wondering if there might be a story of some kind? Not anything serious per say, like a deep story mode, but like...I dunno. The characters are fighting to see who can get the next Weekly Shonen Jump cover to themselves and their series, and then when you win your final match with whatever character you've been playing with, you see the cover they wanted and unlock that in some sort of image gallery. That'd be simple enough and add some more fun to the mix.

That's why I wanted 3 characters per series. Yugi, Kaiba and Marik being there, each with his Egyptian God as an Ultimate (and Yugi having perhaps Exodia as one of his specials and Dark Magician too).

I wish Yusuke would've been in his casual clothes or his Sensui arc get up instead of his Dark Tournament gi. Here's hoping for some alternate costumes, especially in Yusuke's case since there are so many to choose from.

I think they were going for the character's most iconic look, which in Yusuke's case is his look from either the Dark Tournament or his School Uniform which both would've been fine with me. I also think the Dark Tournament was the best arc in that series not that theres really anything wrong with the others.

So if they add villains I'm imagining Freeza for Goku, Shishio for Kenshin, Younger Toguro for Yosuke and either Pain, Madara or Obito for Naruto... I know next to nothing about the other characters so its whatever for them. If Yugi makes it in (I imagine he would) then yes I think Marik would be his counter.

I don't think Frieza should be the villain for Goku because he's iconic and all but he's nothing to buu saga Goku. And also I think Tsuna from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Should be in no doubt. If Yoh makes it in I think his evil twin Hao should be the villain. Badass.

Really!? I found it to be my least favorite. But yeah, I was expecting to see his school uniform since that's the costume I immediately think of when I imagine Yusuke.

I'm kind of wish Dragon Ball's stage would be the Tenkaichi Budokai grounds instead of Namek. Then again the Dark Tournament probably sufficed.

That script seems pretty thin. I suppose that points to a lack of a story in the game(Or at least, a story involving much voice work).
EDIT: Also, I think it says something like 'Battle Voice' on the front? Someone who would know better can correct me on that though. Sounds like it'd just be grunts and pre-fight banter.
