I'll never understand Kobayashi's popularity. Ever. Even by Sentai's own standards, her stuff is incredibly dumbed down.
Well I only brought it up because they already liked her work on Sailor Moon, so maybe they'd be interested in her other shows as well.
I wouldn't say everything she writes is a flawless masterpiece, but I've enjoyed most of the ones I've seen (Ryuki, Moon, Den-O, Shinken, OOO, Gobus, TOQ). TOQger is easily the worst, since it had such a slow and weak start, but eventually it picked up steam. It seems like a sign she should really take a break or even retire. Which is part of why I'm not too keen on the idea of her writing my theoretical Dragon Ball show.

The Black Lady is what Chibiusa should actually look like if there was no mysterious stuff keeping her kid-shaped (aside from the dark clothes of course).
Too bad that we don't get to see her like that at some point, but on the side of good, to see what she's really supposed to look like.
There was an age switch with Sailor Moon at some point, but she was still just only teenager-shaped instead of what the manga makes her look like as a grown-up.
So it was a fruitless tease.
I hate those kind of tease that makes you think they could have shown a grown-up form, but chose not to.
It was like in GT when we were close to see an adult Gotenks, but then "nah, won't be necessary, boys". No, of course not, it's not like EVERYONE would be curious to see a grown-up Gotenks.
I guess that in the end, our curiosity was satisfied after decades for Gotenks with Heroes. But for a real grown-up non-corrupted Chibiusa, we still only have fanarts.

In Japan on April, Original Sailor Moon anime will be re-broadcast in HD in NHK channel called "BS Premium" Sailor Moon fans in US really don't have luck, Viz could wait more, and release it just like Ranma 1/2, instead of using their own remaster, with failed.
I try to get used to derpy shots in Crystal, because anime is rushed, but seriously, this..is just beyond redemption
http://sailormoonforum.com/download/file.php?id=32846 Pluto look also strange
http://sailormoonforum.com/download/file.php?id=32847 It makes me even more sad, because i also watch Go! Princess Precure, also by Toei, and it looks so much better, fights are very smooth and well choreographed, animation is very fluent as well. You would think Toei would put that much care into creating 20th anniversary of anime, that is beloved all around the world

Given Toei's recent track record, I kinda wonder if that really will be HD or just a cheap Q-TEC or similar upscale.

I own the first Ranma Blu-Ray set. It is incredible, truly the best remaster I have seen for an anime, even though I prefer the manga for Ranma.
I hear good things about the Yu Yu Hakusho Blu-Ray too, but I'm not really a big YYH fan personally, so I haven't cared enough to check it out.
It's too bad DBZ and SM will be on equal footing when it comes to bad Blu-Ray releases.

I guess they do put much care... for the Blu-ray updated version only, which should be much more available online instead of the original version.
But maybe Toei actually uses people's remarks to know what to correct afterwards, which is why the online version is imperfect while the Blu-ray version is much more impressive.
This will probably happen to the next
Dragon Ball anime too: airing (one episode in two weeks) with some rough drawings and THEN they make it look right for the Blu-ray release which is supposed to replace the original airing all around the world for every fan.

Boy, Toei really screwed Viz over royally on this one. They deliberately gave out inferior masters, knowing full well that they would eventually create their own release.
For the sake of comparison,
here's how Toei's preview image looks like alongside the Viz blu rays. Though it's hard to comment on the image quality based on the picture's small size, I do like the colors better.
I guess those who would like Toei to bring Dragon Ball to blu ray someday can derive some hope from this announcement. Maybe not the "Z' part of the series, since they already put a ton of cash into making Kai, their "definitive" version of the show, but the first half of the anime, GT and the movies might come out remastered. Of course, as a demonstratively incompetent company, Toei could always still mess its own releases up, though.
Favorite Movies: Alien, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Evil Dead, The Land Before Time
Favorite Shows: Cardcaptor Sakura, Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromit, Wakfu, Yu Yu Hakusho
Favorite Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball

Actually, that image on right, from what i heard on SM forum, is promo image. So it might be false, SM HD won't air until April. I wonder why Toei keeps using Q-Tec, if customers keep say that their remasters are bad?

It'd be nice to see if we can get some "Dragon Box" type release. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Toei remastered the Dragon Boxes right? I usually hear negative things about their remastering, but the DBoxes looked great.

Too bad that Viz didn't used same remaster technique as Italians did, quality of their DVD is even better than 2009/2011 Japanese DVD

They reanimated Sailor Moon because the original anime strayed too far from the manga to give it the same treatment as Kai. If the Dragon Ball anime had a completely rewritten story like Sailor Moon, it would have been reanimated too.

Finally Set 2 had arrived, and what i've gone through to start it, i even lost my Firefox history

(PowerDVD 9 refused to play it, so i had to download Leawo Blu-Ray Player, and it "came" with Search Protection

)
Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it, quality of video same as before

Such a shame really, English dub is really good, package look awesome too..yet video quality still sucks

Viz is pretty uneven when it comes to releases. Funi is probably the most consistent at homes releases.

Apparently the second boxset doesn't include a creditless version of the second opening and ending credits. According to Viz, they "weren't available". Funny, considering DIC, and ADV had them. Even funnier because they're on the fuckin' R2 releases.

In my opinion. Crystal is getting better and better:
- While today episode cut some scenes with secondary characters, added scenes were wonderful
- During second half, all scenes with Ami were really heartwarming
- Whole chess match with Berthier(played by Rumi Kasahara) was really well done, when she keep talking with Ami, making her feel insecure. It shows, that Black Moon Clan is much more dangerous enemy.
- In Dark Kingdom, i really missed comedy scenes, so I'm glad to see them like them in BM Saga (I laughed really hard, when Usagi cheered Ami during chess match).
Looking forward for next episode, I'm little surprised, that they changed Chibi-Usa summer uniform from Manga/Anime (She wore white clouse there, in next episode preview, it is blue)

They seem to be starting to animate the gag reaction faces now. Too bad they use that background when doing it.
In other news, Portugal's dub is premiering in May and both Rogério Jacques (Mamoru's voice actor from the 90's who also played Pegasus Seiya during that time) and Cristina Cavalinhos (Rei's voice actor [and Bulma's as well]) are the only confirmed members of the cast so far. Jacques will be Mamoru again and also Nephrite (the role used to be António Semedo's, the man who directed both Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball's dubs and has passed away years ago), Cavalinhos will play Rei and
Luna (she used to play Artemis because our dub switched the cats' genders and Luna was voiced by Semedo back in the 90's - this time there won't be such a mistake). The studio dubbing the show is 112 Studios, the same studio that dubs One Piece and the director will be José Luiz Alves (who has worked before on the dubs of several Disney animated features).

That background reminds me of the DiC dub. Sailor Says!
I always wish Rogério Jacques voiced Yamcha too. Then you got someone who dubbed Mamoru, Seiya, and Yamcha. Kinda like Richard Ian Cox dubbed both Ranma and Inuyasha.

Black Moon arc's been featuring gag faces frequently, quality of animation has also improved compared to sometimes trully atrocious first arc. Seems like they listened to feedback, 2nd arc is way better. The pacing is still too fast but changing it would require brand new episodes to be written, bigger task than near-straight adaptation of the manga.

Good to know they're bringing back all the actors they can, Rogério Jacques still has his A-Game intact from his perfomances in One Piece (he's Usopp and was Crocodile) so hopefully he can still channel his Mamuro voice. Cristinha Cavalinhos hasn't done anything recently has she? She was in Bakugan but that was in 2008 or so and I don't believe she was in any other dub. Now it's good that they're bringing back the old actors but please don't bring back Isabel Wolmar, just please, I can live with Fernanda Figueiredo back as Usagi but for the love of god don't bring back Isabel Wolmar as Ami.
