Korean user DongHyun has pointed out that Heroes may actually be taking a bit more inspiration from Dragon Ball Online than I thought (and it is currently uncertain if Xenoverse will be covering this same material).
So to start things off here, a little bit of context. According to DBO lore, Karin Tower is actually a giant tree, and Bora's ancestral tribe covers it with with stone plates as it grows. This of course results in the appearance we see during the course of the manga. Well, DongHyun pointed out that during the beginning of the
recent video announcing that Heroes is moving on from GT and will tackle Online/Xenoverse material in the future, the Evil Dragons appear from the base of a dark tower-like object that kinda resembles a tree.
Perhaps not by coincidence, Dragon Ball Online featured a similar tower like object called Chocolay Tower. It was an evil tree that was grown as a counterpart to Karin Tower. It also housed an evil cat counterpart to Karin that was named, you guessed it, Chocolay. The cat can be seen here, and you can catch a glimpse of the tower itself from the game in the old login screen. Similar to the latest Heroes trailer, it's not too far from Karin Tower.
In addition to being the home of Chocolay, it also housed his assistant, Mr. Poko-Poko. This was a dressed up version of the Bongo summon of the Poko Priest class Namekians that served as an evil counterpart to Mr. Popo. The sixth UD quest also took place here and had the players facing off with the evil Black Namekian Naraku, who was apparently killed by a Time Breaker Namekian after he falls at the hands of the players.
