Do you believe the fight to be 3 episodes long?ArchedThunder wrote:I hope the action ends with 69, that would give us a nice beefy fight and then 70, the first post action episode, could be soloed by Yashima and he'd have 7 weeks for that episode which is pretty normal for him.

Is Kinoshita confirmed the thicc lineart style? Because if Ono was then I think that if he does enough he could save 68; only of course with enough animators, though.

It's actually Queen Dra. As in 'dragon'.
King Ryuu... Ryuu meaning dragon.
This sneaky guy!
The fight started in 63 and if it ends in 69 that's a beefy fight of 7 episodes, Vegetto in particular would be 66-69, a total of 4 episodes.Noah wrote: Do you believe the fight to be 3 episodes long?

Another pic of Vegito in Fuji tv Website for #66.

That's an interesting shot but the background is just a simple color, I guess that is not the final background to be used in the episode.

Holy shit, my 2 favourite animation supervisors working in the same episode!!Ajay wrote: #66
Script: Atsuhiro Tomioka

This is gonna be a longggg week!
Ryu as a director?! Isn't this the first time? It could be a misunderstanding.#67
Script: Atsuhiro Tomioka
Director: King Ryu (the kana actually says "Queen Dra", but I kinda just assumed that's an alias)
Storyboard: Takao Iwai
Animation Supervisors: Hiroyuki Itai & Yui Kinoshita
Disappointed Yamamuro is nowhere to be seen. I want to believe a new Movie is coming.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro

Pretty sure Yamamuro will be a KA in Kitano's episode. He seems to help him a lot in the big episode.
Hell, Yamamuro was not supposed to supervise #13 according to NewType. It was just Kitano...
And well, Yamamuro came to help him in episode #19.

how good is episode 67 going to be in terms of animation? i hope the animation won't take a major dive like in episode 62.

I don't recognize the names of the episode 67 supervisors, but it definitely won't live up to 66. We have some of the biggest names working on this week's upcoming episode.zamasu121 wrote:how good is episode 67 going to be in terms of animation? i hope the animation won't take a major dive like in episode 62.

I think Tate would make a really good character designer.kinisking wrote:Although I actually enjoy Yamamuro, I'd prefer Karasawa as character designer. I like Tate's animation but don't want him as character designer.

The staff list for the following episodes is also very interesting, do you think Hiroyuki Itai will become a regular supervisor or just pop-up randomly.
Also, really hope theirs a break before ep 69, just to give manabe an extra week to better touch-up his episode.

#67 and #68 will be terrible for the most part, so not excited for those. Hopefully, most of the battle will be covered in #66.
Also, what the hell is going on with the storyboard and director in #68 and #69? Satou Masanori is storyboarding #68 but not directing and he's directing #69 but not storyboarding. It's weird. Maybe the magazine got it wrong or it's another sign of the production being at a mess.

Maybe, but they wouldn't wear anywhere near as easily as our current character designs, which have no charm to them (besides looking like plastic, even then, it's not charming).Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I enjoy Tate in small doses. I think I'd have to agree with kinisking. Given licence to create his own character models, I think Karasawa would make a better character designer. His artwork is close enough to Yamamuro's to keep consistent with the look of Super, but he differs in all the right ways. Also, I freaking love his shading. I don't know how to describe it but it's freaking awesome. Case and point the bottom two images. So good.JazzMazz wrote:I think Tate would make a really good character designer.kinisking wrote:Although I actually enjoy Yamamuro, I'd prefer Karasawa as character designer. Sure, I agree. I'm not familiar enough with the artists/animators to name a specific designer as an ideal, but it would not be Yamamuro or Tate. I like Ishikawa's art, but I doubt his designs would be ideal, either. I guess what I want is someone who can give us designs that compliment fluidity, yet still feels like Dragon Ball. Which, in retrospect, is the most generic, non-descript opinion possible.JazzMazz wrote:Maybe, but they wouldn't wear anywhere near as easily as our current character designs, which have no charm to them (besides looking like plastic, even then, it's not charming).Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I enjoy Tate in small doses. yes i know that it won't be close to episode 66 level, but i really hope it won't suck like episode 62. i guess we will see the quality of the episode from the preview.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I don't recognize the names of the episode 67 supervisors, but it definitely won't live up to 66. I'd kill for Tate as character designer. His simple designs will allow other animators to provide more movement and fluidity rather than trying to focus on details as someone mentioned. Tate can also be expressive and inject life into the characters something Yamamuro's models lack.
The current character designs being mechanical and lifeless is one of the many reasons why Dragon Ball cannot compete with other series.

Yeah, I really like Karasawa's take on the character sheets, for the most part he gets rid of most of the ugly oily parts and makes everything rounder, however, I think Tate or Shinmanuki would deliver something closer to OG dragonball.(Though Karasawa still has a lot of Z elements in his work)MrWalnut4 wrote:I think I'd have to agree with kinisking. Agreed, Tate has the experience on Dragonball to know what it should look like, while also injecting some modern charisma into the mix.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:I'd kill for Tate as character designer. Yes totally agree. He pretty much delivered the best piece of animation db ever had. Also I am pretty sure that this week people will remember 57 and be like "that's average" (Shida can do it!!!)Baggie_Saiyan wrote:It might not have been anything special for him but it certainly was special for Dragon Ball.
Wasn't Shida and Yamamuro in Xenoverse 2? I thought they weren't inactive.ArchedThunder wrote:I think it will be more than 20 seconds honestly, this is (presumably)the big one and Shida's been pretty inactive recently.
Also I know his cut from 57 wasn't as polished as some of his other work, particularly the shading, but I think it's better than his BoG cut. It all comes down to preference.
Personally I saw Yamamuro in Xenoverse 2's animation (that bardock was totally Battle of Gods Goku, if you know what I mean) but to tell the truth I can't confirm Shida. (I will go and check the credits later)

Hopefully the fighting is over in 66 and these episodes are just aftermath / wind downs!
