Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I didn't mind Chilled's voice that much the second time through. I think the over the top nature of his voice kind of supplements the lack of any real material to joke about. Sure it can be kind of hard to understand at times, but didn't quite annoy me too much where I would need to mute it.

I laughed so hard when they started singing "Welcome Christmas" from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. That was priceless. TFS never fails to impress me.

I believe it's from the episode with Gohan and the tutor, right before Freeza arrives.Insertclevername wrote:I can't seem to remember where the Gohan and Gokuu footage originated from.
Anyway, what can I say that hasn't already been said? I loved it, huge step up from the Cooler Movie which I didn't particularly enjoy.
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Well, that ending was creepy as hell.
I loved it, though. Was hilarious. Spikey spiders... spikers.

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Great special!

Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. If there's anything to take away from this abridged special, it's that episode of Bardock was fucking dumb as shit. Mostly because you had to buy that not only did Freeza's death ball manage to "not kill" Bardock, yet somehow annihilate everything else, but that Bardock becomes Super Saiyan because he feels compassionate for some....purple dough thing. Gohan pretty much encapsulate the entirety of that special with a single sentence: none of this makes any sense.

I loved it! Especially the parts with the "Saiyans" and when they started to sing, I laughed really hard. I'm still laughing at the line "We're all Super Saiyans!"

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I loved that Bardock thought that him going back in time was such a stupid shark-jumping idea that he transformed to Super Saiyan because of that XD Best reason EVER :p
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I agree with this. I liked the special, it gave me a few laughs, but I didn't like Chilled's voice. It was irritating and I actually had a hard time understanding what he was saying most of the time.TheDevilsCorpse wrote: I agree with everything but Chilled's voice. Disregarding the fact that it wasn't what I was expecting, most of the time it literally made my ears hurt to the point of wanting to hit mute while he was on screen...except for the fact that I'd be missing half the special. >_> As much as I loved everything else, I'll probably never watch it again because of that. :/
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
There's one out there that has the entire series.
But yeah, EoB was great stuff. It was brilliantly done, with Gohan's mannerisms penetrating into the actual episode. When it was revealed that it was Goku telling the story, inside Gohan's dream, I absolutely died laughing.
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
It was fun and I enjoyed it for the most part but yeah, Chilled voice seemed a bit too much. I don't know about others, but I had a hard time understanding a lot of his lines.
Also, I'm not sure I got the ending.....
Nevertheless, great work!

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Episode of Bardock abridged was awesome!
Chilled took a bit of getting used to (even more so when the whole point of the final fight for Bardock was "looks like Freeza, talks like Freeza"), but oh well. Bardock actually acting nothing like a hero was spot-on to how it should've been. The chatter with Freeza, Zarbon and Dodoria was priceless. That extra bit at the end cracked me up like crazy! XD
Season 1, 2, the movies, the Bardock special and even movies 1 and 2 from when it was a 2 star team lol. Not a bad way to spend almost 7 hours, huh?

Yeah I really don't understand people who like it either.kemuri07 wrote:If there's anything to take away from this abridged special, it's that episode of Bardock was fucking dumb as shit. I like the original special. What's wrong with that. It's just a fun fan service movie is how I treat it. It's like the bayformers, they are just for fun, but writing wise are pretty bad.chaosakita wrote:Yeah I really don't understand people who like it either.kemuri07 wrote:If there's anything to take away from this abridged special, it's that episode of Bardock was fucking dumb as shit. Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

That voice for Chilled... have you been watching too much Portuguese Freeza?

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I noticed how the special seemed to have no flow whatsoever, just charging forward spontaneously with only a couple running gags holding it together.
Then I remember that that's exactly what Episode of Bardock is. You even made the special's pacing turn in on itself! Artfully done.
And will reiterate too, the cause of Bardock's transformation is probably the finest GOLD I've seen from you guys in a while. And I lost it at the plantian voices.

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I liked how Chilled called everyone on his ship fruits. And the whole nonsense story made so much sense at the end when we see Goku telling Gohan the story.
