You never know. It is AT we're talking about. He could have just forgot or changed it before actually drawing him in the manga. This is probably just an early design reference for the anime staff because it looks like he is definitely drawn by AT or his assistant.

To me it looks like the reference sheet is how Boo would work with fingers, so it wouldn't surprise me if Toriyama drew that for the anime staff so that they could use fingers for Boo as they wanted to.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Actually there is a reason why the animation team change the number of finger. In Japan they can be fined for it because of an old practice of cutting the finger of a person.

Who are you replying to? None of the above posters seem to be unaware of the fingers thing.

It is a general reply to the topic explaining a reason for the 5 fingers.
@Fox has just made a good point. It does look exactly like an AT sketch so he was probably showing them how to draw him with 5 fingers.

Anyway where are the translators like Rach etc? D:

The Actually kinda implies that he was disagreeing with someone. Or I guess I'm just reading too much into it.

I think 'Actually' implies that he just remembered a reason why the animation team would draw Evil Boo with 5 fingers.
Maybe the phrase 'Come to think of it' would have worked better instead of 'Actually'

Maybe some of us aren't translating it because we can't quite make out all the writing. It's pretty small in those scans.

Yeah yeah, my English not good.
I didn't mean it like that

@Lord, well, the text doesn't seem that small. Zooming in doesn't seem to blur it that much either. Also the scans I posted from the old video game manual on the previous page weren't translated even though you can zoom the text right in to it's original size and the text is massive.

Please could translate to English the page where during his fight with Recoom and before he gets his neck broken, Gohan says something like, "I'm the son...of Son Gokuu...the warrior...I won't let you beat me!"

Also, I've noticed that there are a whole load of translation requests that have gone by without anyone fulfilling them, and I know that no-one's required to do so or anything. But there seem to be so many of them lost to time over the multiple pages that perhaps they need to be organized, maybe in the opening post or something.

In answer to Piccolo Daimao, I've gone back to a couple of instances where if I'd had access to the forums at the time, I actually would have done some of the requests.

All in all, without knowing the complete context, I'd say what's going on is that this Yamada is supposed to be in charge of a new Dr. Slump, but is instead doing stuff for GT, and his supervisor is therefore chewing him out, because he seems to get distracted and is always late with stuff.

It's name is Gatchan.

That's a page from a full chapter, and there is a character in Dr. Slump who's name is Yamada. So, I think that the panel with Arale is unrelated with the previous ones.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

So after a thorough perusing of various Japanese Dragon Ball wikias I managed to find the names of Yajirobee's special attacks from "Sparking! Meteor" (Budokai Tenkaichi 3). I've attempted to translate them myself alas to no avail. It's the odd word "gottsuan (ごっつぁん)" that is proving to be the biggest head-scratcher.

Anyhow here are his 3 special attacks from "Sparking! Meteor" (along with my translations):
Issen Gottsuan Giri (一閃ごっつぁん斬り Glinting/Brandishing Gottsuan Cut)
Gottsuan Iaigiri (ごっつぁん居合い斬り Gottsuan Fast-Draw Cut)
Miracle Gottsuan Slash (ミラクルごっつぁんスラッシュ)

The only word that I've been able to find that even comes remotely close to gottsuan is gottsui (ごっつい) meaning hard/rough.

Could anyone help me unravel the meaning of this puzzling word?

It's sumo slang. When you have a sumo character, they're bound to say it. It's slang for "Thank-you". Though someone else will probably have to correct me and tell me there's another meaning for it.

Thanks for the helpful information, Lord Eeyore Haw-Haw. Which means that it probably here functions as a double pun referencing his voracious nature and him thanking for a feast a la when he killed and ate Cymbal.
