Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
As we approach Saturday's reveal of... well, whatever it is they're going to reveal... let's try to keep things as on-topic and concise as we can. There will be a lot of eyes looking this way for additional information, confirmation, and discussion. Thanks, all!

Is it just me, or did the clock just wind back two more days?
EDIT: Maybe it was just counting down to the release of the next weekly Shonen Jump issue, I dunno...

What do you guys suppose the chances are that the movie will have some fun and new settings with some new and interesting story ideas and the side characters will get some shining moments and it won't just be a giant prick waving contest between Goku and some uninspired villain that ends in a dues ex machina?
Like... 5 maybe?

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Yeah, it must be a time zone thing. I guess the countdown corresponds to the time on your computer or something like that.
I have to admit, this is kinda funny.

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
I've got 14 hours left here (so schedule for 10:00am, EST).
I'm so excited I've synchronized my cellphone's timer to the Jump countdown so I can check on it while I'm away from the computer. XD Never done that before.
I hope there's some juicy new information being revealed tomorrow morning. Also I'm hoping that with Toriyama on board that there's humor in this like with the 2008 special. The RB2 special and the new Bardock special were too serious for me. I do like serious, but I like a bit of humor in there too.

Arale-chan makes an appearance in this film? Heh, it would be cool to see her again.
Although it's a Dragon Ball Z film I'm hoping the content of it will be brand new and creative.

I think Krillin is just here for nostalgia purposes, sadly. Unless some of the stronger Z warriors trained with him besides C-18.

Arale is for Dragon Ball. For Dragon Ball Z, (Neko Majin) Z suits better.dbboxkaifan wrote:Arale-chan makes an appearance in this film?

C-18? That's a bit French-ish from the AB Groupe, IIRC.sonikku956 wrote:I think Krillin is just here for nostalgia purposes, sadly. Unless some of the stronger Z warriors trained with him besides C-18.

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
This is amazing news. I like how they market it as a 'surprise' and that 'all of humanity has been waiting'
They know the Dragon Ball fans have been wanting decent major new material, whether a new series or a new film, for a long time. Finally, they listened and are delivering what hopefully would be the start of lots of new material to come.
One thing that I haven't seen anyone mention in this thread is the Dragon Ball SSS Project (Super Saiyan Secret Project) I wonder if this is part of it.
As for the music, like the Episode of Bardock, I hope Hiroshi Takaki is composing it. If the Yamamoto scandel didn't occur, it's very likely that he'd be the composer, he's probably thinking "If only I didn't borrow that damned Avatar piece.."
And, interesting that they are setting it at the Majin Buu timeline, a piece which they have yet to adopt for Kai. I always considered Kai a success, and thought there may be a reason why they haven't adapted the Buu saga yet.
Kai had fantastic ratings and I wondered why they didn't release a DBZ film into the cinemas during Kai's initial (though still unfinished) run. People may have flocked to the cinemas to see it. I hope they do, we need this new DBZ film to be a massive success so that Toei gets the message that if they give us what we want, we give them what they want.
I'm very happy Toei are making a big thing out of this, it shows that they have confidence in Dragon Ball and it's nice that it's set in the Majin Buu timeline, as I think the Buu saga is the best 'fun' saga (not the best saga, there's a difference)

This is it, I guess. I set my clock ahead the ~16 hours left on my timer and let it roll over. No super big reveal (though I could hope), the clock just reset to having 2 more days.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Yeah, it must be a time zone thing. Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
Just imo, but I found Takaki's music in EoB to be quiet, left to be desire and room for improvement, but if it's anything like on Ultimate Blast film cutscenes' music which I think Takaki composed then we're good to go.RazorX wrote:As for the music, like the Episode of Bardock, I hope Hiroshi Takaki is composing it.
Though, I'd prefer new Kikuchi music for this DBZ film just to have all the original cast for one possible last reunion.
Really? What is it?Avenged wrote:It has now been revealed.
