Kaiō-ken looks more similar to the anime this time around.
Volumes 4 and 5 contain an interview with Akira Toriyama.

Do you confirm the white aura for the Super Saiyan?
What's the last chapter?
Is Goku's undershirt uncolored in the fifth volume's cover?
Also, is there any chance you can take a picture of the new Kaioken colors?

I just want to know if you can get the back issues because I probably wont be able to get the year subscription for another few more weeks and would like to be able to download the previous chapters?

Ah nuts, Gohan's gi is purple. Isn't there a color page where it's green, or was that the Saiyan arc?

That is the Saiyan arc. This gi was purple in the colored chapter Freeza first appeared in, I think.

Freeza's aura is purple, nice touch. I guess Cell's will be green and Boo's pink. All of them being yellow would be kinda meh. I also like Jeese's skin color to be a lighter red.

C'mon, Viz.... release these sexy colored chapters in a collected format. C'moooon... The only reason I haven't gotten a Weekly Shonen Jump subscription is because DBZ is the only series in there I care about other than One Piece (which I'm already buying the graphic novels of.) And I'd much rather have a digital GN or physical GN release instead of paying for the weekly chapters.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I think Cell's aura will be white, like with the Super Saiyans. Cell's auras have the shame shapes with the Super Saiyan auras (he doesn't display one until he powers-up after absorbing all the humans he needed, First & Second form Cell has the Super Saiyan aura, suppressed Perfect Cell (against Goku) has Super Saiyan Full Power aura, buff Cell against Trunks has Super Saiyan Grade 3 aura (and looks exactly like SSG3, he calls it "the same thing", and a section in the Trunks Special anime comic speculates a connection between the two forms), and Super Perfect Cell has Super Saiyan 2 aura (and that he got a power up like Gohan)), and even the anime gave Cell the Super Saiyan aura. So, it seems that Cell is actually a Super Saiyan.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Did these volumes keep the kanzenban's change of Vegeta's battle power being close to 30,000 instead of 20,000? Edit: And god damn these pages are beautiful and crisp and amazing and I want them. I want them now; take all of my money.

I hope Viz release these in a physical format, I'd rather have something up on my shelf than on my phone/laptop/tablet.

This just reminds me of how Viz is being an ongoing failure for this release.

If Viz ever put this out physically, they'd just fuck it up somehow. It seems so simple; slap your translation on these shiny, colorful pages, but they'd find a way to ruin it.

That does suck about the digital Shonen Jump; not being able to purchase back issues. At least with the print version, you could still buy the previous issues (either in stores or online.)
For the record, I'm perfectly okay with Viz's translation, it's just the visual censoring and Hercule that bother me. I am fairly confident they will announce that a digital "tankobon" release someday down the road... it's just with the Full Color still running both simultaneously in Japan and in US Weekly Jump, it might be quite a while. If I had to guess, we won't see a compiled US release of the Full Color manga until after Viz is done with their 3-in-1's.

I thought you could already get the original tankobon digitally through itunes in the US

IIIRC, the one we got is censored (although for some strange reason, snapping necks got through the A rating while Mr. Satan doesn't.

Yeah, you can buy the tankobon digitally through Viz's iOS app, but it's their original black and white censored release. I'm referring to my wish for the Full Color version of the manga to be released in volumes locally as well.
Right now, the only way to get the Full Color DBZ manga in English is to buy Viz's Weekly Shonen Jump online, but there's no way to purchase previous back issues, which means you're already missing a lot of colored chapters if you haven't subscribed yet.

They'll probably sell the colored volumes online like they do with the regular volumes later on. They already have the rights for the release and even if they think that its not worth releasing physically, since the digital sale has almost no added costs, they only have money to gain if they sell it online.

I was wondering: Did they change the title of chapter 66 or is this just a different spelling for the same word? It's "マッスルタワーの最後!!" in the
Manga Guide, but on
Mangapolo it's called "マッスルタワーの最期!!".
