Well that's a relief.

I'm trying to decide whether it's indeed too much to spend on a book I can't actually read. It looks to be a pretty beautiful book.

Is it just about creating an account, paying CD Japan once (including custom charges) and be delivered and that's it? Nothing else to deal with?
Or are there bad surprises such as when you get delivered "surprise! Go get us some extra 20 dollars right this second cause of extra charges!"

Would you recommand one shipping method more than another (cost is not a problem as long as I deal with it once and for all, so it doesn't matter if one shipping method is more expensive, I'm more worried about the quality of the delivery and especially the amount of "surprise! pay once more, deal on your own with external entities unrelated with CD Japan!" stuff they could come up with).

I'm not used to importing, the only import products I have (including the Super Butoden 2 OST when it comes to Dragon Ball) were gifts by friends who had their (now unavailable) ways with it.
So these might sound like stupid questions, but I just don't feel comfortable with how it might all hide unforeseen complications.
And yet, I would very much like to have that gorgeous Super Art Collection in my collection...
You pay for shipping and handling. You might or might not pay customs depending on your country's laws and you will definitely pay (a lot) more if you choose FedEx or EMS as shipping option. I'd recomend choosing SAL, it might take a while for orders to arrive but it's cheap and reliable.

Pretty much this. For example, here in Portugal we only pay customs if the product's price+shipping is over a certain value (and the Chogashu is definitely over that value) but for that the box has to be opened at the customs office (and the process for choosing the ones that are opened is a bit random). I don't know how is it for France though...

Thanks, guys!
With both of you agreeing on this, I have no doubts that's the best way to go about it! 8)
I'll see about that in the upcoming weeks.

Not quite. We pay customs if the tax applied reaches that value, and, since books have 6% tax, it's difficult for to reach thar limit.

Right, I forgot about that detail. Better for me

So before translations, can we get confirmation if C4 is basically D7 with add ons, or did they fix the D7 and add material.

it's been already confirmed that most of the material is not just reprints. They have added General White, and the GT characters, the timeline is the new one that has appeared at the exhibition at Japan. It still has the wrong birthdate for Bra on her profile though.

If you check the images you'll notice how they have changed the layout quite a bit. There is a picture that shows some profiles and you can see Mashirito Jr is in there, as well as the new design of Dr. Raichi and even Dr Myuu.

How much new artwork is in the Chogashu? I'm debating getting it, but I already own the "Complete Illustrations" artbook from Viz. Is the Toriyama-drawn Battle of Gods group shot in there? Are there any major differences (larger or smaller sized art)?
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Got an overview page coming for it in the coming days, and Julian's recap of the whole thing on the podcast episode going up tomorrow. We should have you all covered in terms of what you need to know :).

I'm not sure what you mean by "pre-updates"...? Is there something specific you want to know?

In terms of site content, good boys and girls should have a translation of the new Chōgashū interview this evening along with an accompanying/relevant piece of old interview history.

Pre-updates as in stuff that hasn't hit the main page yet. But the interviews sound awesome. I was wondering about anything to do with Choezenshu 4.

We already added the overview page for Chōzenshū 4. The interviews from that will come eventually, but they're a bit longer than the Chōgashū one and will take more time.
