Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
I wouldn't mind Wolmar as one of the villains. But only one this time. Or Sailor Pluto. Either way, and taking into account that the dub is already in progress, these two are probably the only actors that are returning... (still more than the Japanese Crystal I think)
If BOG is dubbed someday I want Jacques as Yamcha for full Tōru Furuya-ness

https://twitter.com/Sailor_Moon_NA/stat ... 2676314114 confirmation, that Viz release of Crystal will use JP BD footage, and Classic VA. You can also pre order Sailor Moon R Part 1 from Rightstuf, but, I'm not sure if I'm gonna get it, i love R, it is my favorite season, pckage is great, as well as extras and English dub, but video quality is atrocious, and over 70 dollars (including shipping costs) is a lot of money

Jacques as BOG Yamcha would be cool, but I'm not sure if he'd commute for just one line of dialogue.
Yeah, not buying the Viz releases. I love R (it's either this or Classic as my favorite), but the video quality isn't good enough to justify the price.

1st episode aired recently on NHK, i know i sound like broken jukebox, but...why Viz? Why you couldn't wait until Toei done their remaster? It still sells like hot cakes, so they won't put it on hold, until Toei finish their remaster

Yikes.
The difference is night and day.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I liked their arc in original anime, but there is no time here for that whatsoever. They tried to expand the villains in 1st arc with 4 Generals and it was a disaster. Better just stick to the manga fully then...

Viz
It's still an upscale--though a much better upscale than Viz's, clearly.

Great news, we all thought, that second season is airing currently, even ANN had seperate entry for R portion, but, it seems like 2nd season will be S/SuperS/Stars

S/SS/Stars would be 34 episodes though

It's all about manga version of Stars arc. Not that 90s anime part was bad, but manga is on a whole different scale and lore in that arc
The first half of Sailor Moon R is available now on Hulu. I'm really disappointed in the quality of the voice acting. The script either sounds too wooden, or they "spice it up" with their own dumb jokes. Upon seeing Mamoru, En states "That blazer... those plaited pants... he's perfect!". Seriously?? Once again another scene even DIC got right, but VIZ fucks up.
Which brings me to another thing... Ail and En sound terrible. They both sound way too stiff and barely put any emotion into their lines. I know they're aliens, but they didn't sound this stupid in the previous dub, or the Japanese version. I'm especially disappointed because En is probably one of my favorite characters in the series. I'm a fan of her new voice actress, but I'm confused at the direction they've given her. She uses a very low voice (which is the opposite of most of her roles) and just sounds really awkward.
I actually miss En's awful, over the top, bitchy voice from the DIC dub. Never thought I'd see the day...
I am getting more excited with the Portuguese dub each day.
They're keeping the Japanese names - no more Bunny, Gonçalo, or Rita; this time we're getting Usagi, Mamoru, Rei, and all the others.
Same goes for the 'Sailor' and related terms - Sailor Moon/Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter instead of Navegante da Lua/de Mercúrio/Vénus/Marte/Júpiter.
Apparently Toei is keeping a close eye on the dub and 'forcing' the studio to keep these names (and I don't mind that at all, on the contrary! I want this dub to be as faithful as possible; this is getting to be everything Kai wasn't here in Portugal).

Apparently some minor characters were renamed in the dub? The script continues to take "creative freedom", and all the main girls continue to sound the same.
I feel like the CWI dub will be more faithful than this.
