Nafno wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 2:06 pm My japanese is far from perfect, but the THIS TIME you are higlighting is konkai, which can mean this time, but not necessarily in a temporal sense, but also in the sense of difference or simply putting emphasis. For example, if I say "Konkai, the band will use an electric guitar for the album". It means that, unlike other times, they use two electric guitar. The album might have 50 years old, and konkai still applies. They might have used two electric guitars before, or afterwards, and konkai still applies. Then he says scenario ga aru, which means there's a script, nothing indicating a new script or recent creation. What Iyoku is saying is that, unlike other Super arcs, for this one there's an actual script written by Toriyama.
Then there's great confusion of which terms should've been used, because the translation says "draft". For the other arcs, it's also said that Toriyama worked on drafts that either Toyotaro or Toei decided to expand on. When it comes to a full script, there's also Fukkatsu no 'F'. Problem being, what exactly is the script and what exactly is the original draft? It's also weird how there's nothing in this saying that Toriyama was involved other than the traditional "Original Work, Story and Character Design" which is just the generic credits to his work in the original manga. The translation interprets what he said as "script" and "original draft" being two separate content, something we may not know in detail.
We may never know what exactly Iyoku meant then, thank you for the clarification anyway, was planning to do a thread about this detail but it won't be needed anymore.
A pleasure.

Tomorrow is the beginning of september, and we have no official release date yet, so let's keep waiting.

I believe there will be nothing in September and we'll have to wait til October, it was already confirmed for that month the Comic Con panel where they'll talk more about the show, probably where they'll be showing the next and final trailer.

I know where you getting this from though. In the original anime, Champa and Vados debut in the beginning of the Freeza arc. In the Manga it's even earlier with them showing up in the Beerus arc already.

It’s not based on a fact, an assumption, or wishful thinking. It’s an opinion. If they rebrand the first three arcs together as a seperate storyline 'Dragon Ball Super: Beerus', I’d consider it a missed opportunity to not build in some extra connective tissue. Aside from the training on Whis’s planet to master God Ki, I’ve always found the Golden Frieza arc to be terribly disjointed. It would have felt more natural if the U6 arc had followed directly after BoG, with only the training on Whis’s planet in between.

It looks like Norihito Sumitomo will return as the composer for Beerus soundtrack.

While not surprising, I still hoped for someone news. Oh, well. Hopefully there's no tracks composed that are better than the old ones.

Considering how lackluster Daima soundtrack was, I'm glad he's back.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

I'm curious if they'll avoid using any of the Dragon Ball Kai background music now that they have more Dragon Ball Super background music to draw from? Sumitomo's tracks for Dragon Ball Kai were especially bad lol

The actual compositions in Daima were fine. It's just we barely ever got to hear them, between how quiet the music mix was and how many scenes just didn't have music at all.

The release date has been confirmed: October 11

A new trailer has also been released, which features the opening and closing themes

https://youtu.be/CFgEL7ei8VE?si=4ePdz_vpf-a5QMvO

It also features footage from the Frieza and Champa arcs, so as far as we know, that's as far as it will go.

(Unfortunately, in my opinion this enhanced version won't save the Frieza arc from its flaws.)

Haha! Of course it's October 11th. The one Sunday I won't be around all afternoon. :lolno:

I'm unlucky that way.

New OP and ED sound fine. The art doesn't look like they redrew that much of it. Lots more filter though.

As long as my favorite parts are still there.
On hiatus.

I like the new opening, but in my opinion, the ending theme sounds meh to me, the first endings from "Super" were better than this one.

Black-haired Super Saiyan 2 was not something I was expecting to see in this life (and with the good outfit!). :)

I'll be sure to just check whenever Super Saiyan 2 appears, along with whatever else is new. Which I don't think there will be tons of new content, unfortunately.

The realization that this comes out in a month finally hit. Overall, I think it looks good.

In terms of art, it seems to me like there actually were a ton of redraws. It's crazy how every character looks really on model. In the case of early super that's probably better, even if it is Yamamu-rified. Hopefully, we'll still be able to identify unique artist traits.

I like how to new OP sounds. It sounds distinct from other OPs we've had, and I think it will slot nicely into the DB catalog. Will have to hear how it sounds after 12 EPs before I can say for sure.

A nifty trailer for certain. And yes, it clearly does look like work has been done on it, but not really enough that it feels like double-dipping into Super will be worth it.

But 20 min out of my life is not the worse thing, so I’ll check it out.

I like that at least they are doing some fun stuff like Super Saiyan God in Res F

The OP/END are ok i guess I'm going to need to hear them at their fullest to deside if I like them.

I can't find anything on Matsuto Seya, who is in charge of the scripts and series direction, so it's probably a pseudonym for either one or more people.

The rotation cut of Goku and Freeza fighting is probably for the Opening? It's kind of hard to tell. Either way, the trailer...does not look good lol

You'd have to completely restructure & rewrite Res F from the ground up to make that story good. The lack of any real tension is what hurts it the most, tbh.

There's some shots that are definitely new stuff. I think there'll be more than people think.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

I like it.
Looks like ROF will have SSG Goku and Gohan not looking like a stick.
Opening seems great but the ending not really.

I was expecting Beerus to be just the name of the first arc, but it will encompass all three. Well it does revolve around his character.
It's a mistake if they don't remaster Goku Black arc before Moro.

Interesting to note: there's a shot of Son Goku using the Kaiou-ken Blue in the trailer, which means that they won't be removing it to better match Toyotarou's comic. I'm curious how many more instances of Kaiou-ken Blue we'll see, then.

There's a lot of really bad shots left over from the 2015 series, but I'm hoping that that new shot of Gohan from the Golden Freeza arc means that he'll get a cool battle scene against Freeza. Let me see Takahashi or Shida animating Gohan getting his ass beat!!
