Kind of makes sense that Kale would be the first to try and have a go at Jiren, as a berserker she cannot think rationally and would not realize that he eats Green Kale for breakfast.

Also yay for My Boy Jiren for being the one beat a L/BSS. The Youtube Brolyfanboys are gonna be pissed.

I disagree. They teased it with them meeting in the teamworklolz moment, and Gohan was upset where his rustiness left him. I wasn't expecting a whole episode dedicated to it as it's not that important, but just a small moment that's quick. Also the thing with Goku and Bergamo is, Goku doesn't care....at all. So there's nothing to gain from it. It doesn't bother him.

I really don't believe they teased anything with Gohan and Lavender. They teased much more with Goku and Bergamo, despite Goku's flippant attitude.

He's immediately singled out by Lavender when they meet in the tournament, and after the botched team effort he suddenly doesn't care. He's like "This time I will crush you." So we're teased a rematch, and then he leaves randomly to go fight Goku. What happened to the whole group thing? Hell if I know..

With Bergamo Goku has absolutely no real care about him. It's just...another guy to beat. That's it. Nothing Bergamo did affected him. It's practically the same treatment as the Vegeta rivalry in how much Goku cares. "Let's settle this saiyan". "Cool let's fight ok." That's about as far as it goes.

Hmm I didn't think Krillin would be the first to go at all, my money would have been on Android 18.

I was hoping to see someone solo a team by himself and to see Goku do it would be interesting. Sort of a Neo Vs Smith's thing from Matrix Revolutions. Maybe he won't do it by himself but still.

Didn't think Kale would be defeated so quickly though. I can't say I particularly care for the character though.

I think this is the first time I've been sad to read a spoiler beforehand. I think having Krillin do some awesome stuff then getting taken by surprise would have been such a great thing to witness firsthand, since I wasn't expecting it at all!

Well that was disappointing. For multiple reasons;

So Krillin was built up to fake out a sense of it being shocking when he's the first fighter out?
Not only that in doing so, we have a kind of crappy end to a genuinely decent character arc. Krillin gets his groove back and proves himself a tactical genius against Goku and Gohan to...get disqualified in the first few minutes by killing an opponent with his trademark move that never hits.
Krillin. The guy who Goku claims has better ki control than even himself. The guy who was entrusted to form a Spirit Bomb, the guy who was able to sense just how strong Perfect Cell was from being hit once and realised he had strength in spades...forgot that his Kienzan is a kill move?

And meanwhile Goku takes out all of Universe 9 without any help.
The idea of teamwork and being able to make use of weaker fighters with their skills to overcome tougher foes is deader than Gyum. And that actually saddens me more than the stuff with Krillin. Power is once again the only thing that matters; fuck tactics, special abilities and skills. It's all about power.

The recruitment episodes focus points really were a load of bullshit, huh?

Maybe he does that to save 18, we don't know yet (even if it was implied).

I can already predict the substantial supply of salt and tears on the screen by the Broli fans and Broli himself after seeing their beloved Kale succumb to Jiren's dick. But jokes aside, words can't describe how euphoric it was to read the spoilers of Jiren defeating Kale because Kale is a terrible character worthy of being expunged from existence.

The amount of episodes spent on Krillin getting his fighting spirit back and hyping Krillin to be a strategic genius....and Krillin is just going to lose that quickly....

If Caulifla actually manages to become a SSJB with little training, then I'm starting to dislike her character now. I didn't mind her SSJ transformation though her SSJ2 transformation was a bit too much.

Yeah, lavender going to Goku makes absolutely no sense because he was just with the group. We should've had a scene in between.

Vegeta is Super's 2nd main character so we'll see him get multiple exciting battles. I think a Hit rematch is possible but I think someone will get in the way of it and Goku will take him down instead.

Sadly, I set my expectations very low since I thought this would happen--there's no place for Kuririn to be useful in the Goku and Vegeta show, because where's the Saiyan in that?

It's possible the manga will be different since we don't know how much of this is Toriyama's outline--Kuririn going out first because he acts like a clumsy moron is exactly the sort of screw-up Toei!Kuririn does, while not so much the manga one--but I don't have any hope for that.

This is one of those times I wish I could read Japanese. I wonder if the Japanese fanbase is reacting similarly?

I never really liked Broly. He's just seemed like a totally overrated character to me. Kale, even though she's ridiculously over-powered like him, I like because there's actually a personality to that character, and doesn't mindlessly yell "KAKAROOOT!!!"
