Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Great episode. It was a really fresh change of pace from previous episodes. I'll have to agree that you guys gave the arc more attention than it deserves...you even gave it its own opening. xD
Also, I'm overjoyed that you guys changed Roshi's voice.

Yeah, that argument doesn't sound made up at all. I'm sure the court would totally buy that. I mean, there would several people claiming it to be true (without any other kind of evidence), so how could the court not buy that, right? It wouldn't even open up a precedent that would allow people to receive that money just by having some friends tell the court that the claim was trueAttitudefan wrote:Youtuber is full of truth:
The only thing that bothers me is:
Krillin can't be committing fraud when he has multiple witnesses of his death. If the insurance underwriter didn't actually stipulate resurrection, then he has a completely legal claim to that money.

Of course, Krillin could summon Shenlong during the court session. That might persuade them

Anyway, he still committed fraud by assuming a false identity.

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Anyone who feels this Episode was rushed, please understand the limitations of time we had. We never want the Episode to run over 10 minutes, much less 11, and we have to pack in as many jokes as we can that also move the story. Plenty of the footage NOT used in this episode, by the way, can be used for later jokes, I.E. powering up Chi-Chi.
I will say, I was on an editing deadline with this one, and got terribly sick during it. But ultimately, with the exception of the final scene, I'm happy with it.
Also, if you listen in the background, you can hear Garlic's men being absorbed. Yeah, I know, but I was literally up til 6 AM with a flight out of town in 8 hours.
Edit: Oh, and trust us. We know the Popo joke is old. He also has NOTHING to do with the rest of Cell, so you'll be happy t see that his role in our version will be cut back on greatly. It's just, the way he handles Garlic in this was just too perfect for us.

Dude, don't worry, you did a top-notch job. I was expecting you guys to cover the whole arc but this is so much better overall. Congratulations.

I actually felt bad for Kuririn, rather than just laughing, but I think that was just my remembering that actual episode with Maron. Say what you will about the Garlic Jr. arc or Maron as a whole, but that episode with his proposal is heartfelt in a way that nothing else in DB is.
Gotta love the 'tuna' gag and the evil Popo though.
And for some reason I'm loving the Yajirobe/Karin stuff too.

You summed up my views of this episode as well. However, as Kaiser said, it was rushed a little.Gonstead wrote:Unfortunately, I have to agree. I really feel as if he's falling into the Mary Sue/Gary Stu category. I liked him initially for his dark humor but he's pretty much become predictable by this point if all of his footage in the series is simply going to be used for as ringworm said as "the evil/invincible Popo".ringworm128 wrote:I know I should find the Popo part funny but it just seemed REALLY predictable. And to me the evil/invincible Popo gag is kinda old.
As for the episode itself, while I did crack a grin at the "beating the tuna" and "Why aren't you up there sleeping with your girlfriend like everyone else" jokes, the whole episode felt rushed and that not as much effort was put into it like previous episodes. There were also times where I questioned why certain footage wasn't used either for joke purposes or serious scenes.
Don't get me wrong, I understand wanting to get Garlic Jr done and over with and I certainly enjoyed watching a new episode, it's just that the execution of using the footage felt weak.
I didn't laugh at this episode unlike the previous ones; I did chuckle at some of the sex jokes. I felt most of the jokes came off weak, and Popo's joke didn't make me laugh like previously.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I laughed my ass off at the Kami/Piccolo scene, especially "He laughed when I said five."
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
The episode didn't feel rushed to me at all. Maybe if I watch it a second time I'll catch the flaws but everything felt just right.
Also, I think I need to elaborate a little why the "pounding the tuna" joke was so funny to me. It was Roshi's laugh that sold it.

I thought the episode flowed greatly than some other episodes that were put out. Loved the whole gold digger/tuna joke. And I don't get the ending that much.. So was this whole episode the whole Garlic saga?

I really hope someone makes a reaction video with Roshi's laughing.
Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Masako X really needs to do a regular Goku more often. When Goku isn't portrayed stupider in DBZA, Masako X does a really good job. Heard the first half of death battle and he really nails Goku. He may have become my favourite english voice for Goku.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I'm actually glad you guys did the Garlic Jr. stuff like this, I was worried it would get in the way of the Artificial Human stuff. Not to mention this episode really shows how you guys can take and edit scenes together to make your own story, without having to rely on the way the show originally did it.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I wonder who will turn to be bigger loser, Kuririn or Yamucha? What are names of these arts you used on "The following..." screen?

Okay, this is very random and also very far off, but I really hope Goku mispronounces Dabura's name. Like Deborah or something.
