I didn't mind the line either. I was on the computer at the time and something about the delivery caught my attention, so I guess that's a good thing.

Vegeta: Hey Kui, you've just...*puts on shades* been fired. *blows him up* (YEAH!!!!!!!!)

But, joking aside, I'm really curious as to what lines are censored and what lines aren't going to be. The next release can't come soon enough.

Watching 21:

They kept the stereo system instead of a cappuccino machine. Not a big deal, I just found it funny. =3

Also, Briefs sounds PERFECT. o.o

What? No muffin button?

But, yeah, I was wondering if they'd ever go back to stereo speakers.

According to the credits, Dr.Briefs is voiced by Mark Stoddard, and the Elder Namekian is voiced by Barry Yandell.

Both of them are perfect, as well as the new Dodoria and Zarbon. I always hated FUNimation's previous Dodoria, as stated before, he just never sounded angry, and ended up sounding too much like the Z dub's Dr. Brief, but you can definitely tell he is angry with this one.

I also really loved the voice for Goku's doctor in the hospital, as he sounded just like I would imagine a doctor sounding, and he also reminded me of a doctor I had as a child. I believe Brice Armstrong voiced him previously, but I think his new actor fit the hospital doctor a bit better. I believe he has the same voice as... was it Richard Moore from Case Closed? I believe his actor was R. Bruce Elliot.

I watched ep 21:

"Hiya Bulma's mother!"

What a fucking AWESOME line combined with Sean's delivery, it was Goku in English all the way. Call me crazy, but did I also hear Goku say "I havta get goin!" when talking with Dr.Brief? If they're going to start throwing in slang and such for Goku fine by me, better late than never!

More wonderful recasts to be heard aswell, Clinkerbeard's Gohan continues to subtlety evolve too. I can't wait to hear her fighting Cell, Gohan fans got a lot of love in this dub. The Character is truly being done justice!

I'll play devil's advocate here and defend Funi's line, since they basically exchanged what was essentially a one liner (or quip) to begin with, with another. I think the fired line was more clever than talking about fireworks. Also, wouldin't the stereotypical die hard fan complain that Vegeta is an alien that wouldn't know about fireworks?

Come to think of it, Freeza enjoys fireworks too, maybe the dub is saving talk about fireworks for him.
I don't know the firework line sounded like an arrogant snide side comment. "You're fired" sounds like a Kaio pun. Also aliens constantly bring up English items in DBZ so yeeeaaah, never liked that complaint.

Edit: Not that I find the line to be a big deal, just unusually corny for Kai. It didn't ruin the episode for me. I'd take it over any pun in the original dub.

Agreed on all fronts, especially the "I havta get goin!" line. I also think he shortened a few other words as well. :o

Gohan Fanboy #1 does not approve of Gohan's new voice, thank you very much.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Gohan fanboy number 1 is also original dub fan number 1 though so...conflicting interests maybe?

Dr. Brief's new voice is better than the previous one, but it's not as though the previous one was horrible or anything. Dr. Brief doesn't really do very much.

I am still enjoying the new Zarbon voice. Dodoria sounds okay, too, especially when he gets angry. Freeza is getting better, but I think a lot of that is the improved dialogue.

And yeah, Clinkenbeard's Gohan still totally blows away Naldony's creepy voice and bad delivery.

He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

It doesn't bug me to much overall, but for all we know the uncut dub may have a "see you in hell" variation or maybe even the fireworks, who knows.

I hope so, I was never a fan of that voice. But if they do change it, I hope they keep #17, 18 and 20 the same.

Wow, the dub is continuing to excel as we go along.

At this point, I'm salivating at the thought of what the Ginyu Special Corps will sound like.

I wonder what they'll say instead of "Tokusentai". :P
