Are Nostalgia goggles really enough to make people want an inferior product?...

We have the Dragon Boxes, and those are pretty much perfect IMO... I don't see the point in this at all.
That's your opinion, I personally think the Dragon Boxes are far from Perfect, the US audio was thrown on there last minute at a crap quality, which since I'm a "dubbie" sucks for me. This is the release (If it's what I'm thinking) that I consider to be the true "Dragon Ball" it's what first got me into Dragon Ball and I would pay for it. OK most people prefer Funi's dub and I have no quibbles with that or with the people that prefer subs but I have every right to buy this.
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

You were the one that bought both of those DBZ Ocean Dub Saiyan and Namek sets, right? So why would you still be interested in this release?

It was £30.25 for each set (plus the shipping of £2.25 2x), it was a somewhat reasonable price because an import costs around the same, more or less.

I bought the original releases and I'll still probably end up getting this :P
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Yeah I wasn't home in time to win the auction, I've already got the singles I was only bidding becuase I need a outer box in better condition which I would have paid for them. So considering I would pay that kind of money for a slipbox case then I'm in for this release all the way.

I just wen't through amazon again searching for DVDs and they've yet to host it up for a pre-order. I'm starting to wonder if we've been fooled :P

If this was fake Funimation would've said as much. It may have been delayed, or even canceled ...

I'm surprised that no one (that we know of) has asked about this release yet at any conventions...
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

The release date appears to be the 17th July maybe we'll just have to be patient until then for an announcement. It's still a long way till July dammit.

I found another one: http://www.dcbservice.com/category.aspx?id=15

All details remain the same however so no clarity on the episode count yet.
Interestingly this site says there are no subtitles which would imply no Japanese track and this product might be nothing more than a re-release of the older DVD's resulting in no uncut, unedited footage and no new dubbing. These are preliminary details though so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Funimation has lots of time left to announce it and this allows them to finalise the various aspects of this release. Funi hasn't debunked this, so I wouldn't dismiss it just yet. Funi tend to be hush hush about their releases, it could be May before we hear anything official.

Is it safe to pre-order from those websites?

But then if it happens to just be some kind of scam or bad joke whoever pre-order might lose their money if the website's not trustworthy.

I don't know if they are or not but I wouldn't chance it, some of those sites look a bit dodgy. Amazon would probably end up being cheaper anyway. Its a bit too early to pre-order since we don't know the full details yet but I do understand the compulsion to pre-order though.

Doesn't Funimation usually announce stuff/release a trailer a couple of months before they release something? If Funimation doesn't say something within the next few months I will start to think something fishy is going on.

Regarding whether it's safe or not to order from some of these sites, I've used dcbservice to buy comics a couple of times recently and they've been far and away one of the best sites I've dealt with. They charge you for things before they ship though since they're mainly for pre-ordering things well in advance at a discount.

I think I'll I take my chances and wait til Funimation announces it. :P but! If this is just the same release the I already have, I may not get them. what's the point in me re-buying the same thing if there isn't anything different from what I own? I don't know..we'll see.

Today's April Fools (1st April) so if it were some kind of a joke it would be over by now, but it isn't so there might be something coming still no feedback from FUNimation or an Amazon listing. :?

I want to believe it's real 'cos I want this.

I think this is either Ocean Kai with the wrong cover or the Ocean Saban DBZ dub with the wrong description. Personally I just want the latter.

Funimation just sent an e-mail to me with the youtube RickRoll thing. That was about an hour ago, 5 mins ago Royal Mail turned up at my doorstep and I signed for a package, unboxed it and it's the dude, I can't get him to stop RickRolling now. Sooo frustrating :(

Why? There are easily accessible DVDs of that dub.

Mainly because it will be much easier and faster buying them all in one convenient boxset than tracking them all down individually online and ordering all of them and waiting for them all to arrive. And I'd like to be able to watch the old dub in better picture quality. Plus it will mean not having to change disc as often. And on top of that I still don't care all that much for Ocean Kai so am more interested in owning a dub that I know is good.

The picture quality is unknown whether it's good or bad, for all we know it could be the footage from the orange bricks (terrible).

But since FUNimation remastered the whole Saiyan arc (001-039) in 1080p HD they should be able to use it and downscale it to 480p it'd look better than what the Dragon Box Z offers, I think. As for Freeza (& Namek) arc in 1080p HD...
