These season sets are the only way I will buy GT anyway(cheap enough to validate it). Is there any confirmation on how many seasons there will be, 2, 3?
Also, The original GT sets still go for 40 bucks, so I guess if people still wanted them you can still get them, even though every store I go to only has "The Lost Episodes" and the Evil Dragons set.

Cool, even less money to spend on this disaster.

Yeah and the cropping doesn't even bother me. Not at all. I even like it on a HD TV.

I'll grab it too because 1) I own NOTHING of GT, 2) Its only 2 box sets and 3) it won't be any cheaper. It's roughly a $1 per episode. That's kind of hard to beat for DB/DBZ's estranged brother-series :lol:

But if GT really is letterboxed, I'm betting we'd see DB letterboxed as well.

Well shit.

I suppose I should get to picking up the current GT sets before the bricks are all I can get.

...Or I can just continue to not own GT. I suppose I haven't missed it so far. =/

If it wasn't for the dub/original music option, I'd just get the singles, since I just prefer singles. But I like the dub, and I need the original music.

Well damn. That's a real pisser. You'd think they'd have picked up on complaints.

Oh well. I still have my Dragon Box set. So no real loss for me.

DBGT will be letterbox. Why was Nanoha’s name shortened? JP companies’ request. D.Gray-Man is going well, just started recording. DtB box: two 13-ep boxes? No box is I think what he said. Witchblade on iTunes? No confirmed date, hopefully soon.
That confirms it, I'm not buying.
Not to sound negative or anything; but, how do you know that that link is true? No other place seems to state that GT will be widescreen (yet).

In a way, yeah how do we know that? And I think that if I want GT I need to make the decision on buying the singles before they go OOP like the Dragon Ball ones.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Complaints = few
sales = a lot
prepping for potential BluRay releases = good savings on cost in future

It makes sense from their standpoint. If people really hated it that much, they'd stop buying it. And honestly, the people that complain about FUNI the most are still buying due to price.

From FUNI's standpoint, it would just make more sense after all is said and done to just make a separate release with DBox footage later on in 4x3 for those that still want it. I mean, why not? It it worked for Star Wars, which has a loyal fan-base, why not DBZ too?

Fixed.

I'm not going to believe this quite yet. I mean, the quote seems to have come from a FUNi Rep, but they've proven to be less than reliable at cons. I'll wait 'til the set comes out and we see a dissection here to see.

If it is cropped, well then #&!$. Am I ever going to own anything from FUNi other than the feature films?! I could go after the old boxsets, but the packaging is even uglier than the green brick. Plus, and damn me for this, I know, but I still have a soft spot for the dub. The original's my version of perference, but I want the dub to have as many redeeming qualities as possible, and with the GT dub's minimal script changes, the original music would bump the dub quality up to "good," so I really want to get it in the best version possible.

But if it's cropped, then I'll probably just hold off on the series altogether. I'm pretty patient when it comes to DragonBall (in my opinion, if you're a fan in America, you HAVE to be patient), and I highly doubt the series will only be available in widescreen in the future. We'll get a proper fullscreen release someday, with the original music in the dub and all the bells & whistles. I can wait 'til then.

Well the original GT releases are essentially a perfect release if you're not into the FUNimation dub.

I'm not holding my breath, but if these actually are 4:3 with recaptured video and better encodes, at that cheap price even I'll pick them up (and I own all of the singles)

Is anyone here actually going to listen Mark Menza's "music"? The only reason i'm buying these sets is because of the Japanese music, and i hope everyone else doing the same. :twisted:

Pretty much the same reason here. Hopefully they'll keep Dan Dan for the opening in the 5.1 dub.

Yup. Same. I've only heard a little of the Original GT music and I liked it. And from what I've been told, it has some of the best music out of the entire Dragonball series.

Hopefully. I'm a big fan of FUNimation, but theres probably some wierd catch, as there always is with "To good to be true" FUNi merchandise.
