So it is just Viz over-reacting as per usual.
Good to know. :3

Still a little surprised by the lack of advertising from FOX about this movie though. I mean, you'd think with only two and half months to go (or 46 days, if you're in Japan) there'd be some advertising going on. :?:

Also, is that 100 minutes estimation correct on the length of the movie?

Since daizex has been offline for a week:

Great theme song by Ayumi Hamasaki "Rule" is now online:
http://www.tokyo-nights.org/index.php?o ... 8:fp-items

Old Japanese teaser trailer featuring the voice of the announcer from the Japanese dub and the sun is an adaptation of the "Head Cha-La" opening:
http://dbthemovie.com/2009/01/30/dragonball-teaser/

Parts of the pressbook which has quotes from James Wong, Ben Ramsey, Justin Chatwin etc... (final part should be online soon):
http://dbthemovie.com/2009/01/28/the-ac ... evolution/

Spanish set report featuring a really cool part from James Wong about Akira Toriyama:
http://dragonball.zeldac.com/2009/01/pr ... dbe-scans/

"As a stronger argument I have to say that, even if James Wong assured that Akira Toriyama wasn’t in the production, he admitted that he was keeping constant communication with him, and even if he was nervous, he was very excited with the results that had the movie. We have to remember that Toriyama-san is an industrial engineer and all the machines and vehicles designs in the movie are in theory, functional. In the art department I saw tens of designs that only him could have conceived. So, is he really missing at 100% of the project?"
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

This means it'll be dubbed in Japan?

Of course. Most Hollywood movies are dubbes in Japanese. You never saw Lord of the Rings, until you saw it in Japanese.

I also ran into multiple "scoops" last week, which I had rather posted here but oh well... the forum is back yay! Fox also contacted me about some behind-the-scenes pics I found.

Anyway, I can say I like the themesong (Rule)...

Actually I read that article, and that quote isn't from Marsters but from the writer of the piece. Although Marsters does have an interesting quote, apparently, one part of his contract says he can quit the project at any time if he feels the movie or movies have lost the spirit of the original series.

Was Akira Toriyama really an industrial engineer? The first time I heard such a thing was when I read that article.
That article also claims that James Marsters auditioned for the English voice of Piccolo in the anime.

These things all seem a little.. untrue if you ask me. :/ I could be wrong of course.

Disregarding the fact that the Japanese version isn't a "dub"...

You mean Joji Yanami? Because it doesn't sound like him. :?

Or if you mean the Budokai announcer, well... he's kinda dead. :?

I think by "holy texts" he meant SCRIPT....

"I love this song!!!! It has Dragonball all over it. "

"Greatest song ever!!! Sounds like a lot like Dragonball now! "

Foolish mortals!

Although for Ayumi Hamasaki, it's pretty ok...

I wasn't quoting Marsters. . .

And yes I meant Makafushigi Adventure. I wrote that post before going to bed.

As for the voice actor, I got it mixed up. It's actually the voice of Ichirou Nagai.

Narration is Ichirou Nagai, Japanese famous voice actor , in dragonball anime, voice of karin-sama (Goku's master cat) and Tsuru sennin.

Wow, somehow I must have imagined you mentioning Marsters, I really need to sleep more, because I'm starting to see things lol. But to be fair I had just came back from work when I wrote that, and I was definitely tired...
Sorry about that Jappo, just wanted to help a bit

About that Japanese trailer... Seems like they're not gonna dub this movie with anime voices, eh?

Kameyameya might be the correct way, rather than Kame Hame Ha. But uh...both are used in the anime, I think.
Kameyamayonaise.

I'd watch that.
Or listen to it.

Kind of a round-a-bout thing, but right now on the pre-Super-Bowl extravaganza they've already gone through mini-interviews with actors from "Land of the Lost", "Escape to Witch Mountain", and "The Fast and the Furious".

I know at least one of those comes out after the live action movie does....

Though with how things have been going in terms of marketing, I don't expect to see Chatwin pop up at all tonight.
On hiatus.

Oh man, I'm now reading that newest article, about the locations...
An area within the city limits became Paozu City, where Roshi lives in a shack situated amidst towering skyscrapers.
Oh man.. so that actually WAS Kame House? Another big disappointment. And Paozu City... What the.. They could've at least use another name.. I mean, Roshi didn't live on Mt. Paozu. And he also didn't live in a city..

When will this movie stop with the disappointment?

(This is all of course my personal opinion on the matter.)

That teaser is great, which is more than I can say about what the other teasers and trailers are portraying the film as thus far. *Thumbs up to Ayumi Hamasaki's "Rule"; the track doesn't exactly emulate the Dragonball vibe imo, but it's an exciting song I suppose.

Uh so would you rather it be named 'Ping pong city' or some random name? Why does it matter?

At least they used "Paozu" and not some made-for-the-movie name that would have boiled our blood some more.
